E. Key concepts
Human Body Systems
Source: https://hunterbusinessschool.edu/medical-assistant-program-diploma-training-body-systems-disorders/

1. Skeletal System
- The skeletal system is the framework of the body that is held together by tendons,
ligaments, and cartilage.
2. Nervous System
- The nervous system is a network of nerve cells and fibers that transmit nerve impulses
throughout the body.
3. Muscular System
- The muscular system aids in movement, blood flow, and other bodily functions. The
muscular system is made of three different types of muscles. Skeletal muscles, Smooth,
Cardiac muscles.
4. Respiratory System
- The respiratory system brings in oxygen and expels carbon dioxide. This system is
made up of the airway, the lungs, and the different muscles of respiration.
5. Endocrine System
- The endocrine system is a collection of glands that secrete hormones into the
circulatory system to be delivered to the body’s vital organs.
6. Immune System
- The immune system is the body’s defense against bacteria, viruses, and other
pathogens.
7. Circulatory System
- The circulatory system permits blood to circulate and transport nutrients, oxygen,
carbon dioxide, hormones, and blood cells.
8. Urinary System
- The urinary system helps eliminate waste products from the body. This body system
includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, sphincter muscles, and urethra.
9. Integumentary System
- The integumentary system is an organ system that protects the body from damage,
loss of water, or abrasion from outside. This body system includes human skin, hair,
and nails.
10. Reproductive System
- The reproductive system is a combination of bodily organs and tissues used in the
process of producing offspring.
11. Digestive System
- The digestive system breaks down food, extracts nutrients into the bloodstream, and
excretes waste. This body system is made up of the digestive tract, liver, pancreas, and
gallbladder.

F. Processing skills:
- Comprehend
- Differentiate
- Explain
- Apply

G. Values Integration
o The learners will know and understand the different systems in the human body
o The learners will gain knowledge about the importance of the different systems in
our bodies.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES/PROCEDURES
PRELIMINARY ACTIVITY
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activities

"A pleasant morning to all of you"

"Good morning, sir"
"Good morning, Can someone lead the prayer
for this morning?"
Someone lead the prayer*
"Thank you Ashley, May I ask the class
monitor if who are the absents for today?"
"There is no absent for today sir"
"Very good!, class"

RECALLING
Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activities
"During your junior high school class
particularly in Biology, your teachers partially
discussed the components of body. Now, May I
ask someone who can still remember what
makes up our body?"
“Sir, based on what I still remember the
organization that makes up our body from the
simplest to most complex are atoms,
molecules, tissues, cells, organ , and organ
system.”
“Okay very good, other idea?”
"Sir, based on my understanding from what my
junior high school teacher discussed about it is,
our body is composed or made up of water and
also it is made up of different elements such as
water, oxygen, nitrogen etc."
"Okay very good, Speaking of system, Can you
name at least one system of our body and how
does it work?"

"Sir based on what I still remembered, digestive

system is responsible for the food we ate. When
whenever we eat, our stomach digest the food
we eat and eventually process in the intestine
and excrete through our anus"
"Very good!, How about the others?"
"Sir, respiratory system. The respiratory system
is a network of organs and tissues that let you
breathe. It allows oxygen from the air to enter
the body while also allowing the body to expel
carbon dioxide from the air breathed out. When
we inhale our diaphragm pulls downward, and
when we exhale our diaphragm relaxes upward
because we released air"
"Wow!, most of your answers are correct"

"With that stated, l'd like you to get ready

because we will be having a short quiz game for
today. All you have to do is to answer all the
questions provided on the link that I will be
given later on and make sure put your name as
well as your section. You have 15 minutes to
answer all these questions, Is it clear? any
questions? clarifications?”
"None, Sir"
"For those students who will ace the first three
ranks will get an addition extra points, is it
clear?"
“Okay, Sir”
"Okay you may start. At this moment , I will
attached the link on the chat box"
“Okay, Sir”

*After 15 minutes* Students are opening the link and start

answering*

"Okay, time is up!, the first three highest ranks

will have an additional points, Can someone
reflect on the given short quiz game? "
Someone is reflecting to the given short quiz *
"All of you passed the short quiz and
congratulations to the first three students
who’ve got the highest score.”
"Thank you, Sir"

Presentation of Objectives

For this morning we are going tackle the following objectives:

1. Discuss the different parts of a human body.

2. Give at least 5 parts of a human body then discuss its function on a daily basis.

3. Students must know where are these parts are located.

Let’s proceed to our lesson proper.

Lesson proper

“So based on our pre-assessment,

what do you think is our lesson for today?”

“Yes, Samuel?” ‘Based on the pre-assessment we took a

while ago, we were asked about the

different parts of a human body, its functions

and where it is located.”

“Our lesson for today is about the different parts

of a human body, just like what Samuel said, we will

also get to know its main functions and where it is

specifically located. I am sure you guys are somehow

familiar with the topic today but I’ll try to make the

discussion light as possible to make it easier for us

to understand it.”

“I’d like you to watch this short video I prepared

of which I know will familiarize everyone. After watching

this video, I’ll have you guys randomly pick from these random

parts I have written in a small piece of paper, it will be your

assigned role. I’ll ask each and every one of you to stand

in front of the class to tell your classmates about the certain part

you’ve picked then briefly discuss its functions and how important

it is.” Students listen attentively.

“Is it clear, class?” ‘Yes, Teacher!’

“Please kindly go each one of you one after the other here

in my desk to pick what part will be assigned to you.” Picking of random assignment has
began.

“Is everyone all set now? If yes, then I’m gonna give

you at least 10 minutes to prepare then we’ll begin.”

After 30 minutes

The activity went well. All of the

students were able to participate.

“Congratulations, everyone! Thank you for participating

in our activity for today. I hope everyone learns from each

assigned roles. As you reward, I’m gonna give you all a

perfect score for today’s activity!”

Synthesis/Realization

“Anyone one from the class who can give

The summary and realization about out topic
For today?”

“Yes, Armin.”

“During our discussion, I have learned that our

body has this body system which has different
parts and functions”

“Can you at least give me 3 body systems

That you have learned?”

“The first one is Skeletal System, from what I

have learned, it is the framework of the body
that is held together by tendons, ligaments and
cartilage. The second one is Nervous System, it
is the network of nerve cells and fibers and the
last one is the Immune System, immune system
is the body’s defense against bacteria, viruses
and other pathogens.”

“Very well said, Armin. Very good!”

Enrichment Activity

One whole short bond paper. Draw and

color.
What is your favorite part of a human body
that mostly interest you within the discussion?
Explain why.
