Specifications for Garbage Chute System

Chute Vent 300 mm:

For the flat roof with a cap on top to guard against rain and snow, it is kept 1.2 mtrs. above the roof.
Note: Necessary roof slab opening of 450 mm diameter has to be provided by the main contractor.

Axial Blowing Exhauster:

It is mounted in the vent tube; it requires 220v, 50/60Hz, 100 Watts electric supply, to vent the chute
inside and outside and to vent the collecting room too. It sucks the entire bad odor from inside the
chute duct. Access door is provided for servicing of exhaust fan

Bird & Insect Screen and mesh:

The Bird & Insect Screen is used to avoid any living objects to fall inside the vent. (Stainless Steel)

Inspection Access Door:

The Inspection Access Door is a 600 x 600 mm stainless steel (Grade 304) door and is situated on the top
most floors, kept above the Intake Garbage Chute door. It is useful for inspection of accessories and for
refilling of disinfecting solution in the disinfectant unit.

Automatic Flushing spray Head:

It is used to clean inside of the chute on every floor. It consists of the sprinkler type cleaning system
fitted with a motor and very powerful cleaning system spray heads on to top of chute head plate and all
intakes on each floor. Installed on every floor inside chute intake throat

Note: The water supply connection has to be given by main contractor in 1" pipes from the roof tank to
sprinkler

Chute supporting frames and clamp rings:

These are fabricated out of 50 x 50 x 5 mm angle, it will provide support the chute tube at the slab
opening accordingly.

Bottom Hinged Door:

There are outer frame size 550 x 850 mm, Stainless Steel (Grade 304) noiseless, self sealing and self
closing type with door locking device.

Offset for Chute Bottom:

With a diameter 600 mm fabricated from Stainless Steel to suit the site conditions .

Note: An additional reinforcement plate will be provided inside the chute offset.
Fire Fighting Sprinklers:

These are used for fire protection inside the chute and will be kept on alternative floor.

Specifications: Glass bulb sprinkler R-1/2" connector thread type, SPR hanger type, actuating
temperature 68 degree Celsius. SPR sprinklers can be used in conjunction with normal water supply. We
will use same brand as approved on the project for firefighting system.

Disinfecting and Sanitizing apparatus:

This is fitted with a 1" solenoid valve connected on the top of the chute head for cleaning the chute
system which mix with the flushing in the time of washing.

Automatic Fire Shutter Door:

Run on smooth running rollers fitted with a fusible solder link. In the event of a fire, the solder will melt
at 71 degree Celsius thus releasing the door and closing the chute duct.

Garbage Trolley:

These are hot dipped galvanized, 2.5 cubic meter capacity , Municipality standard trolleys to DIN 30738.
It is fitted with a locking and lifting device, suitable for the Municipality Trucks. It is also fitted with the
drain plugs.

Master Control Panel:

The control panel is provided with necessary switches, relays, lights etc. for the control of the Chute
System. The Control Panel is Mounted in Garbage room which has two lamps and ON/OFF Switches and
Control Switch for interlocking of doors and exhaust fan.

Chute Tube:

It is a 600 mm dia Tube, fabricated from 1.5 mm thick, Stainless Steel (Grade 304) sheets. It is
completely coated from outside for its entire length with the sound dampening material thickness of
1.5 mm). Chute tube will be provided according to the Actual height of the building.

Intake throat:

These are Stainless Steel (Grade 304) intake throats, designed to suit the bottom — hinged intake
doors.
