C. Let us Practice
This time, reason out how the shift in speech context, speech style, speech
act and communicative strategy affect the language form by writing your
explanation on the box provided. Make your parents proud!
I think your delivery style would be fully determined by the topic of your

speech. If the topic matter is serious, your delivery should be formal, and
your choice of diction and words should properly communicate your
intended message. Your delivery should have a serious tone to it. If, on the
other hand, the subject matter is humorous, your diction and delivery
should properly convey that as well.

The situation, surroundings, and conditions in which a communication

takes place are referred to as speech context. Changes in speech context
can have a significant impact on the intended message. It gives the listener
a completely different impression of the message and significantly changes
the duration of the interaction.

Any change to one aspect of the communication process affects the entire
process. This indicates that shifting from one speech act to another has an
impact on the overall communication, whether directly or indirectly.

Communicative strategies are important not just for communication, but

also for the acquisition of a second language. Communicative strategies
(CS) can help in maintaining open lines of communication, hypothesis
generation, and automation.
