He spent most of his time writing plays and poems in London. Some of his most famous works include Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and Hamlet. His writing style evolved over time from the conventional style to include more metaphor and rhetoric. He retired from writing in 1613 and died three years later in his hometown.

Biography

Born on April 26, 1546. Shakespeare was an English poet,


playwright and actor. His father was a successful
businessman and his mother was the daughter of a
landowner. He married Anne Hathaway when he was 18,
and she was 24. They had three children: Susana, Hamnet
and Judith. He spent most of his time writing in London
and but 1585 he began a successful career as an actor,
writer and co-owner of a playing company called “King’s
Men”. His first plays were mainly comedies and histories,
and between 1589 and 1613 he produced most of his
known work. When he was 49 he retired from Stratford
and died three years later at the age of 52, a week later of
signin his will. Leaving most of his property to his oldest
daughter, Susana.

His style evolved out of the conventional style of the time, it was highly
stylized. He used metaphors and presumption in poetry and rhetorical
language in speeches. As time passed he changed little by little to more
traditional styles and his main poetic form was the blank verse. In his
last works his style changed again, his poetic style did not have long
sentences and tried to look for a spontaneous effect.
