ACTIVITY 1: Looking Through the Learning Environment
Using Venn diagram, compare and contrast blended learning and face-to-face class.
In your opinion, which of the two mentioned above will the students learn more? Explain your
answer.
For me between blended learning and face to face class students will learn more in face to face class. During
face to face class students and teacher can have an actual interaction in which concerns and questions ask by
the students will clearly be explained by the teacher. It has more efficient way to teach the students with less
hindrances. During it, teacher can teach physically present that will also affect the emotional learning of the
students. Face to face class allow the teachers to get the full attention of the students that will will make the
more focused on studying. Also during face to face class students can mingle with their peers and classmates
and engage exchanging and sharing of ideas. Teamwork and collaboration between students are there.
Unlike today, students are like relying more on the sources and answers based on the internet without
knowing it is valid. Learning and teaching nowadays for me is very static and full of compromises.
ACTIVITY 2: On Teaching Methods and Strategies Used
Observe your critic teacher while discussing during an online class. Answer the following
questions:
2. What are the factors that determine the teacher’s choice of methods?
Teacher consider first when choosing a method is the characteristics, nature of the
students and their abilities and interests. Another is the subject matter to be learned if it
is difficult or uninteresting, hence the teacher must be able to use or choose the method
that will make the learning effective and meaningful. The outcomes should also be
expected after to ensure the achievement of objectives.
3. What are some of the outstanding principles of learning considered in the methods used
in the subjects you observed?
Based on what I have observed on Miss Joan (my Junior High School FS Mentor) in order for the
students to learn more effectively and efficiently, you need to uncover the structure by which information
is organized. Always identify the main idea for you to allow to dive into the details of each without
becoming overwhelmed. She will discuss the lessons thoroughly and pauses every time to ask the
students if they have something to ask and encourage students to participate in answering equations or
problems. It is important to have connection with the students and teacher to achieve efficient learning.
1. What are the reasons for using instructional materials? In what ways do they help
facilitate learnings?
Instructional materials are essential since they help the teacher and learners avoid overemphasis on recitation
and rote learning that can easily dominate a lesson. It allows learners to have practical experiences which help
them to develop skills and concepts and to work in variety ways. Instructional materials also contribute to make
lessons interesting, learning easy and enable teachers to easily express concepts. Lastly, instructional materials
organized the topics that is being discuss by the teachers and will help the students to avoid confusions.
2. Is there a danger in using too many instructional materials in the class? Explain your
answer.
Yes, for me it has. Using to many instructional materials can be risky just like materials takes time as
well as resources need to be allocated. Danger using many instructional materials will be the lack of fund
and inadequate time for the use of instructional materials. Also having many instructional materials will
confuse the attention of the students.
3. What factors should be considered in preparing instructional aids and devices? Explain
each factor.
One of the factors to be considered in preparing instructional aids and devices is the relevance of the
lesson. The curriculum you are be using should have a strong connection between the students and you..
Next is the academic standard of the child and age, you should consider those to fit in to their level of
understanding and adapting new knowledge. And lastly, the goal on what will be the result and effect of
using the instructional materials.
is due to the fact that each pupil learns in a different way. Students with a strong visual intelligence will
enjoy the dialogue, and if art works are included, students who enjoy art and design will as well. Those
kids who are auditory will, on the other hand, be unconcerned and will simply listen to what the teacher
says.
ACTIVITY 4: On Assessment Used
Based on the observations done in Activity 2, answer the following question.
1. What type of assessment was used by the teacher to evaluate the pupils/students’ mastery
of the lesson?
Based on my FS mentor after she discussed the lesson she will let the students answer
a quiz and have their solutions on a math problem during a synchronous class on a google
meet using a jamboard . And also there are times that she will have an oral recitation about
the lesson in which she will give a point on every student who participated.. At some other
point she also gives a quiz on their LMS in which students can answer with time limit.
2. Ask your critic teacher to give you a soft copy of a module that she discussed for that
day. Analyze the objectives and some test items used in the lesson? Was there a
congruency between these two? Explain.
The objectives meets the expected questions for the test. As what she put on the
objectives she applied it while discussing. Just like the lesson, it is about circle and the
objective there is “at the end of this module the students will be able to distinguish a what
is a radius, diameter, arc, circumference and semi circle”. In which while she let the
students determine about circle she has an illustration picture which indicates the part of a
circle. In her test questions there is a congruency between the objectives and test items,
because students were able to answer and determine the questions.
3. Did the results of the assessment affect the growth and development of the pupils? Why
or why not?
Yes, I believe that each time the students will be given an activity, it is their chance
to learn the things other than the learning instilled by their teachers. whenever they have an
activity, their curiosity will be awaken and this will trigger them to learn more and if that
happen it will contribute to the development of the student, it may not be physical but it is
more on mental development.
I have observed that teacher created an active learning environment and encourage to
focus attention.as what I observed it is a transformation of process from teachers to
students. She always help to organize the students on their knowledge and provide
timely feedback. Teachers should also consider soliciting student opinion during the
class.

ACTIVITY 6: What Did I Feel?
Draw a brief description of your feelings based on your online class observation that you
have done. You may use symbols to illustrate your feelings/reactions.
ACTIVITY 7: My Insights
Write your personal learnings regarding your observations.
1. What are the significant learnings that you have acquired?
Based on what I have observed, you should always have a plan, organization of methods
and dedication on everything you were assigned to do. Time will always be considered on
every responsibilities you are tasked to. Grab the every opportunity that is given to you
because not everyone may have the opportunity you have. Be mindful of how you can
affect each others’ emotion and stability because others may have the good and bad day.
Respect and understand each other. As a teacher as long as you can understand the
situation of your student, consider it. We are all facing and experience trying times this
days. Problems may occur and for sure there is also solutions to it.
2. How would these insights improve your knowledge of methods and techniques of
teaching?
.
-I will be able to adapt to the requirements of the students and be more considerate,
especially because not all students are financially fortunate, and treating them all similarly
would be unfair to those students who lack resources. It also taught me that teaching
methods and approaches differ from one teacher to the next, as it demonstrates how some
teachers employ one strategy while others employ another. Because teachers alter and adapt,
it varies more for their students.
