Task 1
Video 1 and video 2 provide the examples of infographics. After watching the
videos, please respond to the following questions.
1. What information was described in Video 1 and Video 2?
2. Were you impressed by the way the information displayed? Why?
3. How was the information provided in both videos?
4. What visual elements were used in the videos?
5. Do you find it easy to get the information from the videos? Why?
6. In your opinion, how was the information in the infographics arranged?
7. If you were getting the same information from an explanation text, would it be easier
to understand?
8. After answering questions 1 – 6, how can you define infographics?

Answer :
1. They are the Infographic example videos.
2. Yes, I was. Because they are widely increase a reader’s/viewer’s understanding of a
particular topic or issue.
3. They enable the information to be more easily understood. For example, a piece of
information which is previously presented in several pages of text can be conveyed to
the reader through a single graphic. In short, infographics allow information to be
conveyed in a certain flow and in the desired context.
4. Visual elements used in the videos :
a. Headline/ Title
Your headline should tell about the whole gist of your infographic. It is better for
you to make it short yet interesting.
b. Beginning/ Introduction
This part contains sentences describing your infographic. Your introduction
should grasp your reader’s attention.
c. Middle/ Main Infographic Content
This is the main focus of your infographic. Here, the main idea of your message
is broken down into smaller sections by using subtopics, subheadings, supporting
sentences, and data visual elements.
d. End/ Conclusion
You summarize and reinforce your argument in this part. You can write what you
want your readers to do.
e. Sources and Footnotes
Do not forget to cite your sources if you are using sources apart from your own,
for finding relevant data for example.
5. Yes, I do. The most visually are unique, creative, effective, because they grab our
attention and don’t let us go.
6. The information in the infographics arranged through the following characteristics :
1) Clear Goals
Choose the target audience of your infographic?
2) Easy to Digest
Make sure that you keep the message simple to digest because you want to attract,
not push away viewers.
3) Compelling Narrative
Infographics have one thing in common: they weave a compelling narrative and by
the time they finish reading it, they should feel intellectually enhanced and
emotionally stimulated.
4) Unique Concept
Infographics should engage and influence the viewer to interact with your message.
You need to be able to grasp their interest and attention quickly. The design must
be unique that will draw viewers and make them absorb your message.
5) Creative Design
Creativity helps you widen opportunities of grabbing attention. By utilizing
technologies, you can customize the design of your infographics.
6) Visual Focus – Not Text
Your infographic needs to ease the viewer from a long explanatory text and focus
on the visual elements of the infographic.
7. No, it would not. When we acquire information in explanation text, it may bring us in
a more time to understand the message. But, when we get the information through
infographics, it will be more effective way to deliver the message. It will be
transferred more effectively to our brain.
8. Infographics is a collection of imagery, charts, and minimal text that gives an easy-to-
understand overview of a topic, use striking, engaging visuals to communicate
information quickly and clearly.

Answer :
1. Infographics bring clarity. They make it easy for your audience to understand your
point and directs them straight to the point.
2. I can find the infographic in landing page, newsletter, online courses, social media,
white paper/ebook, client presentations, client proposals, progress reports, brand style
guide, flyer/brochures, website’s about page, campaign strategy, annual report, impact
report, crisis communications, etc.
3. The details I can find in the above infographics are :
● The first infographic tells us about the growth of networking industry through
social media.
● The second infographic tells us about online training promotion.
4. The conclusion of the information provided in the above infographic are :
● The first infographic : The Internet and particularly social media have opened the
world of global interactions. It is not a problem anymore to keep in touch with
friends and relatives from other parts of the world. Social networking sites have
grown to global societies of billions of virtual inhabitants. Our planet has just
become smaller and more approachable, not only in personal, but also business
interactions. Social networking is all about interactions and an open dialogue with
users. Social media helps you humanize a brand and build genuine relationships
with your community. It shortens the distance from your audience, especially
when you address them from personal accounts. You can promote your business
more effectively. You get valuable insights about audience and your business.
Social networking induces loyalty. Social media increases website traffic.
● The second infographic :

● I found something doubt about Infographics. They are :
⮚ Time consuming
A good infographic requires a lot of time for preparation. Designers have to
design the graphics and layout well instead of just searching graphics and
finishing it in seconds.
⮚ Easy to Over Budget
Since good infographics require time and exquisite design which means
allocating budget to a freelance designer and it is may not affordable for small
businesses.
⮚ Hard to Express Clearly
Because there is not enough room for paragraphs of information thus it is hard
to express things clearly.
⮚ Not Very SEO (search engine optimization) friendly
It is hard for search engines to recognize infographics if it is not indexed.
● I want to share the information about education, especially tips how to make study
online fun during the pandemic. Because I’m a teacher and during the pandemic I
always teach online. It makes my students boring sometimes, so I want to share the
tips how to make study online fune during the pandemic.

Task 4
1. Conduct your own research on a topic of ‘positive and negative effects of stress’. You
can create questionnaires to distribute manually, using Google form or through social
media. Construct relevant questions to get informative or comparative data.
2. Having done collecting data, you are expected to present your findings in an
infographic that depicts the results of your research. You may consult to the following
video simulation to make it.

infographic is appropriate to use.
3. Timeline Infographics
This type of infographic functions to visualize the history of something, to

This type of infographic is suitable for providing a summary or overview of the
steps in a process.

5. Geographic Infographics
You can visualize location-based data or demographic data through this type of
infographic. The focus visual in geographic infographics is the map charts and
different types of them work better for different types of data.

You can use this type of infographic to compare options in an unbiased way or to
make one option seem better.
7. Hierarchical Infographics
This type of infographic arrange information from greatest to least.

You can use this type of infographic to share a collection of tips, or a list of

Creating infographics can be done by hand using simple everyday tools such as
paper, pen, pencils, markers, and rulers. However, today they are more often created
using computer software, which is both faster and easier and even more beautiful
and colorful. They can be created with general illustration software, such as Adobe
Illustrator or freewares. There are also a number of specialized websites and tools
that can be used to construct infographics.
d. What are the language features of a successful infographic?
Some language features that you can follow to make a good infographics are as
follow:
1. Informative
You need to be informative, accurate, and revealing the message.
2. Engaging
Use the language that invites people to explore the information and help them
find relevance and context.
3. Accessible
You need to communicate to the readers with the clearest language and the
simplest techniques.

Create a good infographic using specialized websites and tools, which is both faster
and easier and even more beautiful and colorful. Tools/ software/websites that can
be used to produce the infographics are as follows: Pixlr, Hohli, Stat Planet, Google
Public Data, Wordle, Tableu, Gapminder, Inkscape, AmCharts, Infogram, Visually,
and etc.
