Compo-Lab HB system –
innovative haemoglobin screening technology

CompoLab HB is one of the smallest devices to measure haemoglobin in human whole blood.
By use of a motor driven cuvette holder, operation has become very easy by assuring excellent
measuring accuracy at the same time.

MAGIC TIP saves one operation Step

Triggered by a MAGIC TIP, a finger tip to close the cuvette holder, CompoLab closes motor driven.
Subsequently measuring and displaying of the haemoglobin value takes place automatically. The
cuvette holder automatically opens for the next cuvette – and therefore saves one operation step.
Additionally, the contamination risk is reduced, as no further parts of the device have to be touched.

MAGIC TIP assures excellent measuring accuracy

The motor positions the cuvette holder precisely without manual influences, like too rough pushing
during closing. Hence, less contamination risk for the optical unit arises. The measuring accuracy
is +/- 3 % compared to international reference method for haemoglobin (ICSH method).
Auto-calibration function
Auto-calibration always is activated when switching on CompoLab HB. This function completely
replaces the use of control cuvettes and the need of re-calibration. Furthermore an excellent long
term stability of CompoLab results.
Dual wave lengths method
To compensate potential turbidity of the whole blood sample, measuring is done at two wave
lengths – 570nm and 880 nm. This supports excellent measuring accuracy independent of
individual blood variances.
QC indicator in cuvette box
CompoLab HB disposables use up-to-date technology to realize a high level of quality assurance:
The QC cartridge inside the cuvette box contains indicator substance. The change in color
of the cartridge substance from orange into transparent indicates, that the cartridge has been
exposed to humidity and therefore shall not be used anymore.
