educational situation as a reference for developing answers to current difficulties in blended
pedagogy while improving online and onsite teaching and learning practices.
Students' preferred platforms for e-learning settings may be the subject of
future research. Many classrooms are embracing social media as an accessible platform to
undertake blended learning, as has been noticed, Resurreccion (2018).
Philippine authorities must also look the Schools' Readiness & Response Amidst a
Global Pandemic. It should be highlighted that online education is thought to be education's
finest weapon in the face of the epidemic. Online education must be re-considered as the
new normal, and new modalities must be explored in order for everyone to continue
learning. However, future scholars may want to examine into the curriculum's
contextualization according to the country's several regions. Also, undertake a study to
establish the institution's issues as well as the potential for improving the school's service
(Gonzales, 2020).

Research Design
This research will apply concurrent triangulation mixed methods
design, an approach that includes researchers taking different
perspectives on an issue under study or more generally in answering
research questions. These perspectives can be substantiated by using
several methods and/or in several theoretical approaches. Both are, or
should be, linked. Furthermore, it refers to combining different sorts of
data against the background of the theoretical perspectives that are
applied to the data. According to Denzin, 1970 the idea of within-
method triangulation is applied in qualitative data collection, it means
that several methodological approaches are combined in one
qualitative method. This includes the different aims and theoretical
backgrounds of both approaches, but remains in the scope of one
method.

RESEARCH PROPOSAL
REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND SYNTHESIS

Blended Learning- An Approach to Philippine Basic Education despite its

limitations, have a wide range of effects in the education system around the world.

Above all, BL allows students to set their own learning pace. Students can also look

for as many materials and resources as they need. BL is not a new concept in the

Philippines; HEIs have employed it in a variety of courses including basic education,

particularly in urban areas. However, just a few publications demonstrating the

efficiency of face-to-face, and e-learning have been published. This study suggested

conducting research on the implementation of blended learning in the entire

archipelagoes.

Understanding the Blended Learning Readiness of Students according to the

findings of the Resurreccion (2018), students' views about online learning have a

significant effect in their blended learning readiness. Students who have a positive

attitude about online learning are more likely to locate better instructional content

online, to be motivated to prepare properly for their studies, to be able to study their

courses multiple times, and to be able to manage their time for their studies.

Students' preferred platforms for e-learning settings may be the subject of future

research. Many classrooms are embracing social media as an accessible platform to

undertake blended learning, as has been noticed.

Assessing Students’ Online Learning Readiness by Fearnley & Malay (2021)

found that computer/Internet self-efficacy, and online communication self-efficacy

had high levels of motivation for learning.

However, interventions to increase self-directed learning and learner control

must be implemented. "The same readiness that works in face-to-face learning

works in online learning, e-Learning, and distant education" (Horzum et al., 2015, p.

760).

Digital Literacy of Selected Senior High School Students both grade 11 and

12 students, who are 17 years old and are divided into STEM and non-STEM

strands, are preparing for the online transition of schooling in some way. The six

domains that demonstrated a degree of "some extent" in all areas were used to

measure and analyze this readiness. Digital literacy should be integrated and

enhanced across all subjects in senior high school, particularly in the delivery of

online education, in order to realize the learning competencies of each subject area

through provided activities and assignments geared toward the use of the internet

and online applications (Laudato & Punzalan, 2021).

E-Learning in COVID-19 Pandemic learners become aware of the resources

(especially smartphones) available to them be handy in the household. Because they

preferred to express their issues in the discussion board for their worries, students

grew familiar with the activities and resources in online learning. More interaction

should be available through online activities as well as communication Self-paced

activities were favored by many of the students. Teachers should provide students

ample time to finish each given task and, if possible, establish a task analysis map

for a specific set of pupils (Balsicas, Padohinog, Hala & Bulauan, 2021).

Perceptions of Distance Learning in General from the study of Pinar 2021

said, that pupils did better in an asynchronous technique than in a synchronous

method. Furthermore, while establishing immediacy is easier in the synchronous

method, the utilization of discussion boards and new teaching tactics is likely to

increase convenience, flexibility, interaction, and cooperation in the asynchronous

way.

Students viewed the placement of alternative learning modes as beneficial

approaches for promoting interest and learning, according to the findings.

Furthermore, the study's findings revealed that both synchronous and asynchronous

methods of giving education were beneficial.

Aguilar & Lineses 2019, the usage of e-learning does not constitute an

improvement in and of itself. It can potentially assist and enable such enrichment,

regardless of the quality of teaching and learning. Technology is considered as a

valuable instrument for transforming higher education into a more student-centered

and flexible system, with technology-enhanced learning becoming a standard feature

of the curriculum. Rather than being unique from other forms of learning and

teaching, the mainstream provision, procedures, and practice. To put it another way,

technology has made learning possibilities more accessible.

Online classes and learning in the Philippines even if face-to-face classes are

being resumed, hybrid (blended) learning must be adopted. The ability to use various

digital technologies to hone better individuals of tomorrow will be critical to the

success of any institutional program connected to the delivery of online education

(Ignacio, 2021)

The phenomenon of learning at a distance through emergency remote

teaching

based on Alvarez 2021, stated Emergency Remote Instruction should not be limited

to synchronous delivery; instead, they should experiment with asynchronous

teaching and/or worksheets/modular approaches. Similarly, higher education

institutions should consider the origins of their pupils. We may come from many

walks of life, but this pandemic recognizes no boundaries. To rethink academic

policies, it is critical to listen to students' experiences and give voice to the unheard.

Therefore, learning from the problems and challenges in blended learning

encourage a complete dialogue and institutional intervention to address the

obstacles and constraints of blended learning, which will help mobilize additional

possible intervention programs in future blended-based teaching and learning

approaches. To have different point of lenses and bases for faculty training and

program development to blended learning, the support of quantitative measurement

or mix methodologies research is advised (Alvarez, 2020).

Based on the study of Cahapay 2020, the development of readiness

competencies among learners is a curriculum aim that must be stressed in the new

standard curriculum. When it comes to curriculum content, deciding whether to

integrate or minimize might be difficult. On the other hand, educational approaches

that are increasingly moving to an online format should be evaluated in light of a

variety of aspects or rethinking Education in the New Normal.

Practices and Readiness in Blended Learning Environment from the studies

of Salcedo, Orlanda-Ventayen & Ventayen 2020, discussed that open and distance

education must be made available to students who have difficulties in attending

school. For Open Source, a single vision, policies, and processes must be adopted

by the institution. When it comes to Open and Distance Education, they need to

develop clear criteria to follow additional research on a bigger scale, such as

gamification in education and other relevant topics. It was suggested that tests be

carried out to validate future outcomes.

Philippine authorities must also look the Schools' Readiness & Response

Amidst a Global Pandemic. It should be highlighted that online education is thought

to be education's finest weapon in the face of the epidemic. Online education must

be re-considered as the new normal, and new modalities must be explored in order

for everyone to continue learning. However, future scholars may want to examine

into the curriculum's contextualization according to the country's several regions.

Also, undertake a study to establish the institution's issues as well as the potential for

improving the school's service (Gonzales, 2020) .

Same with our teachers’ preparedness and acceptance of information and

communications technology. Teachers agree that they are prepared to integrate ICT

into their teaching practices, according to the findings of this survey. Teachers in the

twenty-first century are not afraid of innovations and trends in instruction, as seen by

their acceptance of ICT use in the classroom. Teachers appeared to have a high

level of ICT integration in their daily teaching. This study strongly proposes that

monthly sessions, similar to school learning action cells, be held to ensure

instructors' progress and development in ICT integration (Hero 2020).
