This document will help you customize your images for different uses.
Scans
Good Quality: 8” x 10”, 300 ppi (3000 x 2400 pixels) 24 bit color
TIFF or PSD (Photoshop) file format
(Approximate file size: 20 MB)
“Archival” Quality: 11” x 17”, 300 ppi (5100 x 3300), 48 bit color,
TIFF or PSD (Photoshop) file format
(Approximate file size: 96.3 MB)
PowerPoint
(These are full-screen dimensions. Make images smaller if using captions or other text.)
• XGA projectors: (1024 x 768 pixels) 10” x 7.5” at 96 ppi
• UXGA projectors: (1600 X 1200 pixels) 10” x 7.5” at 160 ppi
This size image will also look good on older SVGA (800 x 600) or XGA (1024 x 768)
Video
Image files must be in RGB or Grayscale mode* (not CYMK). Before inserting into a video
project, crop images to constrain for aspect ratio: 4:3 for regular video, or 16:9 for HDV or DV
widescreen. For best results resize pixel dimensions as follows:
