I have applied for the job because I believe that the skills and qualities, I possess are a match for the job description. - I am a graduating student of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Technological University of the Philippines – Taguig Campus this 3rd of December 2021, I studied automotive engineering technology before I took the ladderized engineering program. I have had my on-the- job training at Toyota Pasong Tamo – Makati, as OJT – Mechanic for 5 months. - I am a positive, forward-thinking person and I genuinely believe I can come into the team and help the company forward towards achieving its goals. If you hire me, I will work hard to fit into the team so I can start contributing positively to a very quick timescale Why should we hire you? - You should hire me because I will learn the job quickly and I will start contributing positively to the team in as fast time as possible. Why do you want this job? - I want this job because the job description is a close match for my own skills, qualities, and experience. - This means I can come into the position and make an immediate impact. What are your strengths? - I have the ability to take on and complete multiple tasks whilst under pressure based on my experience being a service screw at Jollibee corp., I think I gained enough experience under pressure. What’s your greatest achievement? - My greatest achievement has to be in our thesis when I worked as part of the team that managed to participate in Engineering Research competition last October 17, 2021 and win as What’s your biggest weakness? - I have been told before for my inability to say no to people. I’m usually the first person to volunteer to do additional tasks and I sometimes get overloaded with work. Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time? - First of all, I still expect to be working here and I expect to be competent in the job I have and well-respected by my work colleagues or coworkers and supervisors. Why do you want to leave your current job? - I am now ready for a new challenge where my skills and qualities will be put to good use. - But I left on good terms and with fond memories of the great things I achieved whilst with my previous employer. What would you do if you didn’t get on with someone in your team? - I would immediately fix the situation with a view to resolving any conflict quickly and properly for the sake of the team and the organization. - If I can’t sort it out, I would always act with professionalism and do all I could do to get on with the person for the sake of the team. How do you handle pressure? - I understand that pressure is all part of everyday working life and I actually perform really well whilst under pressure. - The best way to work under pressure is to prioritize which tasks are the most important, 2nd; draw up a list of priority tasks and by what time or date they have to be completed by, last is work solidly and put in the extra hours to get the task done within the set timeframe. When have you worked as part of a team? - I am great at listening to the team brief; I allocate team tasks based on each other’s strengths; I work hard to do my particular job to the highest standards possible; and by supporting other team members; last is by working hard to achieve a successful outcome. What didn’t you like about last job? - There wasn’t really anything I disliked; however, I sometimes found my employers lack of ambition slightly frustrating as I felt they could have achieved so much more. I am quite a positive and enthusiastic person and I would have loved it if their future plans would have been more ambitious. - There wasn’t anything I disliked; however, I felt my skills and qualities were not always used to their full potential. Whilst I always did my job properly, professionally and on time, I felt I could have done so much more for my employer given the opportunity. What three things your last boss would say about you? - I think they would say I was reliable, trustworthy and when I was given a job, he/she knew it would get done to the right standard and on time. - That the standards of work I delivered was the benchmark for others to follow. - That my positive, professional and hardworking nature always rubbed off on others and that he/she could rely on me to do my job properly, on time and to the standards expected. What are your salary expectations? - I believe I am worth the top range of ________ but that I am prepared to take slightly lower as _________ as I understand I have to prove to you I will be a great fit of the role. What’s your greatest achievement to date? - My greatest achievement to date has to be the time I worked as part of a team improve the quality for serving gold standard products for our team. We’d worked really hard as a part of a team to improve and secure best quality for the customers to consume. What would you do in the first 30 days of starting? - I would concentrate on three things: First of all, I would obtain a full brief form you, my manager, on what you expected from me and the standards I needed to work to. Secondly, I would get to know my team really well so I could understand the type of things I could do to start contributing positively to the orgainzations goals quickly; and finally, I would look to complete my first important project or task in the fastest time possible to show you what I am capable of within the role, and to also repay the faith you have shown in me by employing me in the position. When have you had a disagreement with your manager? - I haven’t had that kind of disagreement. What motivates you? - Three things motivate me: doing a great job for my employer, continually improving within my role and also feeling that I am continually contributing and adding value to the company I am working for. Do you have any questions? - Q1: What would you need me to concentrate on in the first few weeks of starting? - Q2: What are the future plans for the company, and do you have any exciting products or services being launched soon? - Q3: What’s frustrated you about previous employees who occupied the same role that I am being interviewed for today?
