Main Topic: Overview of Organizational Theories Subtopics:

A. Classical Theory
B. Neo-Classical Theory
C. System’s Theory
D. Contingency Theory
E. Interactionism
F. Post-Modern Approaches

I. Introduction
This session explains the overview of organizational theories. It was
comprehensively discussed by the reporters through elaborating its
concepts, using examples and sharing their own experiences in real
scenario. Listening to them I get to appreciate the educational system of
the Philippines and even the administrations of every school.

II. Discussion
The first theory is Classical Theory. This simply implies that the
workplace of an organization was divided properly. Employees and
employer/s know their duties and responsibilities. It encourages proper
training and orientation for they know that it will help workers to work
productively and efficiently. Another thing is to minimize lapses,
eliminate too much workload, and to make work lighter. The second
theory is Neo-classical. This theory values human relation through
communication. It reminds me of our current administrators, they always
give their best to maintain that relationship with their subordinates and
teachers. They always emphasize the unity with the workmates to make
the work on a place when you are comfortable. There will be teamwork
and camaraderie. As I am working this kind of environment, it allows me
to move freely and to do work easily. This concludes a happy
environment to work with.
The third theory is System’s Theory. The basic idea of this theory is
“The whole is greater than the sum of its part,” it reminds me that the
educational system’s needs a lot of things. We are thousands of
teachers teaching millions of students but we cannot overtake the
unending demanding of this organization. The fourth theory is
Contingency Theory. This theory emphasizes the importance of both
leader’s personality and the situation in which the leader operates. We
may face different type of leader, there firm, strict, good, passionate and
goal-oriented. The fifth one is Interactionism. This theory values the past
interaction of an individual to a certain thing. It made me realize not to
judge directly an individual specially my learners now. We don’t have the
same experience and culture which affect our thinking. On the other
side, symbols and languages are important in this theory. A person
made choices and tend to believe what they think what it needed. The
last theory is all about Post-Modern Approaches, this is what the
Department of Education is trying to implement and improve for how
years already. The aim of education is the teach student to think critically
and teachers lead students to discover new things.

Conclusion

With these theories I get to internalize how we can do great

as an educator, we ought to inspire and encourage our students to be more and push
them to do more. If I want to be a good leader someday, I must start now. That is the
reason why I enrolled myself in Masters of Education major in School Administration
because as a future leader, I want to become someone who will look up to.
