Students, Banton NHS Celebrated The Career Guidance Week Bannering The Theme "Directing You
Pursuant to DO 25, S. 2013-Guidelines on the Conduct of Career Guidance Week for High School
Students, Banton NHS celebrated the Career Guidance Week bannering the theme “Directing You
Towards Success” The opening of the celebration was marked by a Parade around the town on August
12, 2019. The Career Parade was participated by the Grade 10 and 12 students, dressed in their chosen
future profession. The students were very excited while wearing their future profession costume.
After the parade, the Opening Program was held at the BNHS Laboratory. The invocation was led
by a Grade 10 student as well as the singing of the National Anthem. The first session was entitled
“Have You Found the Right Track?” The talk was given by the Guidance Counselor Designate, Ms.
Maria Eloisa Fetalvero. She introduced the different senior high school tracks and the different strands. In
the said session, the different professions under each track and the different subjects which will they get if
they pursue a specific track.
In the afternoon, Ms. Maria Eloisa Fetalvero, facilitated the Career Guidance Module for the
Grade 10 students. The first module entitled: Embarking on the Self-Awareness Journey, made the
students realize their talents, skills and interests, which are important in choosing their career. Knowing
oneself is the first thing that one must consider in choosing their future profession. To start the session,
a video about choosing career was shown to the students. From the video, they realized that choosing
the wrong track or profession might put them and other people to danger. The students were tasked to
make a self-portrait bag, a bag which will show their talents, skills and interests.
After finishing their bags, some of the students were called to present their self-portrait bag. They
explained the reason about the outcomes of their bags.

In the afternoon, there was the SEARCH FOR MS. AND MR. CAREER GUIDANCE 2019. It was participated
by the students from Grade 10 and Grade 12. A pair was chosen to represent their class. The pageant
was hosted by Mr. Jaynes Flores. There were five pairs who fought for the title.
