The existence and continuous advancement of technology is probably one of the

greatest inventions of mankind over the years. It has lived up to its main objective of bringing
comfort, ease, and convenience on the lives of people. These objectives have made a lot of
contribution in so many aspects of our lives – from education, health, communication,
livelihood, and even in our means of entertainment. With the help of technology, imparting
knowledge has become easier for teachers and information are a lot more accessible for those
who have the means and privilege of owning a technology like mobile phone or computer. The
existence of technology has brought a greater advantage and development on the health
industry. It has helped medical practitioners to make accurate and faster diagnosis, helping
professionals to identify health problems early and improving the odds of successful life-saving
treatments. The creation of vaccine is attributed to technology as well, which is one of the most
important inventions to exist in these trying times of pandemic, our only hope. Aside from
health and education, technology brought a great impact on communication as well. Helping
people who are separated by distance to talk and see each other virtually. Communicating no
longer requires a lot of time, patience, and effort to do. Helping everyone to feel at home and
see their loved ones when they are far away from home, with the use of a mobile phone and
with just one click or tap. Technology is more than just for ease and convenience, it is also one
of so many things that people use to enjoy and relax, for entertainment. From this point, we
can say that technology has permanently become a necessity in our lives.

Technology is a great invention, that is for a fact, yet this invention is affiliated with all
sorts of disadvantages or negative impacts if abused and taken advantage for. There are a lot of
studies stating and proving that technology affects people in a negative way when it comes to
being sociable and making face-to-face contact, brought by mobile communication. Technology
is a distraction as well, taking and accumulating more of our time, distracting us, and keeping us
from performing in an efficient, effective, and productive manner. Much worst, technology has
also become a tool that people use as a means of carrying out illegal activities online, such as
fraud, identity theft, sexual harassment and online prostitution, and cyberbullying. There is no
denying that technology will continue to transform our lives radically or fundamentally in the
future - the best is yet to come. How it will affect our lives, may it be positive or not, strongly
depends on how we utilize it. Technology form part of how humans act today, the complexity
of our lives is attributed to its advancement and development. How it will influence our lives
depends on our sense of responsibility and accountability as an individual in this modern
society.
