Symptom: Print Quality Issues

Recommended Actions: Update Firmware

1. Open an Internet browser and browse to https://support.brother.com

2. Click Downloads

3. Do one of the following:

- Type your model number in the field Search by Model Name: and then click Search.

- Browse to your Product Category → Product Series → Model Name

4. For Step 1: Select OS Family, select your operating system type.

5. For Step 2: Select OS Version select your specific operating system.

6. Click Search.

7. Click the name of the file that you would like to download.

NOTE: You may need to click under each section to see all available downloads.

8. Make note of any instructions on this page so that you'll know how to use the file once it's downloaded. This is
typically listed under the section Read before downloading.

NOTE: If the note is hidden (collapsed), you may need to click on the plus sign to expand the text.

9. If you agree to the terms of the 'End-User License Agreement', click Agree to the EULA and Download.

10. You may receive additional information about the downloaded file.

- For Macintosh Users: The download should begin. Follow the instructions you noted earlier for assistance with
using the file.

NOTE: Downloaded files are usually saved in the Downloads folder in the Dock but varies based on your web
browser's settings.

If you don't find the Downloads folder in the Dock, click Finder in the Dock. Click Go on the Finder bar at the top of
the screen and then select Downloads.

- For Windows Users: If prompted with a security warning, click Save. You may instead click Run.

NOTE: Most web browsers will download the file into your default 'Downloads' folder. In some web browsers, you
can access the downloaded files by pressing the CTRL + J keys.

11. Once the download is complete, click Close if prompted. Follow the instructions you noted earlier for assistance
with using the file.
