English Conversation, What Did You Do?

Simple fast Tense

Maria: Hi, guys!

Boys: Hi Maria!

Maria: Long time no see, how is it going?

Tom: Great! Thank you.

Peter: Pretty well, thanks. And you?

Maria: So-so, thanks. How was your summer vacation, Tom?

Tom: It was so interesting!

Maria: Wow, what did you do?

Tom: I went back to the countryside to visit my grandparents and stayed there for 2 weeks

Peter: Where is your grandparents ‘house?

Tom: My grandparent´s home is in a small village in Vermont, a state in New England.

Peter: Well, then tell us what´s there and what you did there.

Tom: Of course, everyone there is very friendly and they all know each other, it is a pretty quiet
and peaceful place because there aren´t many vehicles or factories there. The air is clean and fresh
and the landscapes are breathtaking. What I liked most about that village was that you could enjoy
several sports activities there. I also made some friends there. I played some interesting sports
with them. I tried rock climbing there. It´s so cool.

Peter: Really? I think it´s too dangerous.

Tom: No no my friend, the feeling if being conquered was great.

Peter: What else did you do there?

Tom: On windy days, we went flying a kite, we also went swimming in the afternoon floating on
the inflatable mattress was so relaxing! We hiked together to the top of the mountain Camel´s
Hump of a Camel.

Peter: That´s so amazing!

Tom: I visited Ben & Jerry´s ice cream factory. That entire place was so cute and creative, and as
soon as you walked in you are enveloped in that oh-so-amazing ice cream and cookie smell.

Maria: Wow, so great, I love it!

Tom: I really enjoyed my vacation.

Maria: yes, your trip was awesome, well, what about you Peter?
Peter: I went to the beach with my family for the summer vacation. I enjoyed that trip very much,
it was extremely wonderful. The climate was great there. During the day it was sunny and windy,
at night, it was cold.

O went surfing when there were big waves in the sea, I also tried windsurfing, it is a great water
sport, too. We swam and dived to watch the coral together, underwater life is beautiful and
magical.

We had to wear goggles underwater to protect our eyes.

What I liked the most is riding on a jet ski. It´s so exciting.

Tom: oh, it sounds good. And you, Maria?

Maria: I took taekwondo lessons and I spent the time to join the guitar club. I also learned to swim.

Tom: Taekwondo? What color belt did you have?

Maria: White, I want to get my blue belt soon.

Tom: Great! What about your swimming lessons and guitar club? Was there anything?

Maria: Yes, there was.

I had two swimming lessons a week and I went to the guitar club once a week.

On the last vacation, my guitar club organized a camping trip and I joined.

We had so many wonderful adventures

We participed in the archery competition

We learned how to shoot arrows at the archery targets

Tarzan swing were really exciting!

We also jumped on a trampoline, it was a lot of fun, too!

We split into two teams and played tug of war.

Peter: wow, quite a lot of activities during that trip!

Maria: Yes, because there were quite a lot of people have a join.

María: ¡Hola chicos!

Chicos: ¡Hola María!

María: Cuánto tiempo sin verte, ¿cómo te va?

Tom: ¡Genial! Gracias.

Peter: Bastante bien, gracias. ¿Y usted?

Maria: Regular, gracias. ¿Cómo fueron tus vacaciones de verano, Tom?

Tom: ¡Fue tan interesante!

María: Vaya, ¿qué hiciste?

Tom: Regresé al campo para visitar a mis abuelos y me quedé allí 2 semanas.

Peter: ¿Dónde está la casa de tus abuelos?

Tom: La casa de mis abuelos está en un pequeño pueblo de Vermont, un estado de Nueva
Inglaterra.

Peter: Bueno, entonces cuéntanos qué hay y qué hiciste allí.

Tom: Por supuesto, todos son muy amables y todos se conocen, es un lugar bastante tranquilo y
pacífico porque no hay muchos vehículos ni fábricas. El aire es limpio y fresco y los paisajes son
impresionantes. Lo que más me gustó de ese pueblo fue que allí se podía disfrutar de varias
actividades deportivas. Allí también hice algunos amigos. Jugué algunos deportes interesantes con
ellos. Intenté escalar allí. Es tan bueno.

Peter: ¿De verdad? Creo que es demasiado peligroso.

Tom: No no mi amigo, la sensación de ser conquistado fue genial.

Peter: ¿Qué más hiciste allí?

Tom: En los días ventosos, íbamos a volar una cometa, también íbamos a nadar por la tarde
flotando en el colchón inflable ¡fue tan relajante! Caminamos juntos hasta la cima de la montaña
Camel's Hump of a Camel.

Peter: ¡Eso es tan asombroso!

Tom: Visité la fábrica de helados de Ben & Jerry. Todo ese lugar era tan lindo y creativo, y tan
pronto como entraste estás envuelto en ese increíble olor a helado y galletas.

María: ¡Vaya, genial, me encanta!

María: sí, tu viaje fue genial, bueno, ¿y tú Peter?

Peter: Fui a la playa con mi familia durante las vacaciones de verano. Disfruté mucho ese viaje, fue
extremadamente maravilloso. Allí el clima era estupendo. Durante el día hacía sol y viento, por la
noche hacía frío.

O fui a surfear cuando había grandes olas en el mar, también probé el windsurf, también es un
gran deporte acuático. Nadamos y buceamos para ver el coral juntos, la vida submarina es
hermosa y mágica.

Tuvimos que usar gafas protectoras bajo el agua para proteger nuestros ojos.

Lo que más me gustó es montar en moto de agua. Es tan excitante.

Tom: oh, suena bien. ¿Y tú, María?

María: Tomé lecciones de taekwondo y pasé el tiempo para unirme al club de guitarra. También
aprendí a nadar.

Tom: ¿Taekwondo? ¿Qué color de cinturón tenías?

Maria: White, quiero conseguir mi cinturón azul pronto.

Tom: ¡Genial! ¿Qué hay de tus clases de natación y tu club de guitarra? ¿Hubo algo?

María: Sí, la hubo.

Tenía dos lecciones de natación a la semana y iba al club de guitarra una vez a la semana.

En las últimas vacaciones, mi club de guitarra organizó un viaje de campamento y me uní.

Tuvimos tantas aventuras maravillosas

Participamos en la competencia de tiro con arco

Aprendimos a disparar flechas a los objetivos de tiro con arco.

¡El swing de Tarzán fue realmente emocionante!

También saltamos en un trampolín, ¡también fue muy divertido!

Nos dividimos en dos equipos y jugamos tira y afloja.

Peter: ¡vaya, muchas actividades durante ese viaje!

María: Sí, porque había mucha gente se había unido.
