Quick Setup Guide

Stack Your Devices


1. To get the best experience and performance, it is recommended for the
following sequences. Refer to Scenario A, Scenario B, and Scenario C.

Notes:
 ThinkPad® Stack Hard Drive and ThinkPad Stack Wireless Router
should be stacked together.
 ThinkPad Stack Wireless Router supports up to two Hard Drives at
the same time.
2. To get the best access speed to Stack Hard Drive, ThinkPad Stack
Assistant App supports up to five accesses to Stack Hard Drive at the same
time.

Download and install the ThinkPad Stack Assistant App


1. Go to http://www.lenovo.com/stack or scan the following QR code.

2. Download and install the ThinkPad Stack Assistant for your system
(Windows®, Android, or iOS).
Note: It is recommended to open the above link with device’s native Web
browser.

Initialize the ThinkPad Stack Wireless Router with ThinkPad


Stack Assistant
1. Connect the ThinkPad Stack Wireless Router (hereafter called router) to
power with the Stack AC adapter or Stack Power Bank.
2. Press and hold the router power button for three seconds to turn on the
router. Wait about 45 seconds until the green, power-button LED is ON solid.
3. Turn on the Wi-Fi on your device. Search and connect to the router’s default
Wi-Fi.
Notes:
 The default Wi-Fi names are ‘Stack-2.4G-xxxx-undefined’ or ‘Stack-5G-
xxxx-undefined’ (where “xxxx” represents the last four characters of the
router’s MAC address). You can find the MAC address (MAC Adr) on
the label attached at the bottom of the router.
 You can connect to the router’s Wi-Fi at either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz
frequency band.
4. After you connect your device to the router’s Wi-Fi, open ThinkPad Stack
Assistant on your device, press Initialize, and then press Next.
5. Input your preferred Wi-Fi name, select a Wi-Fi encrypted type (WPA2
recommended), and then press Next.
6. Set your admin password for the router and press Next.
7. Press Restart. The router restarts. Wait until you are prompted that the
setup is completed successfully. Press Ready to go! to enter the login page.
Notes:
 For Android and iOS, if ThinkPad Stack Assistant displays “Not connect
to Stack Router”, press Wi-Fi Settings in ThinkPad Stack Assistant to
enter the Wi-Fi settings page. Connect to the Wi-Fi that you created in
step 5 and return back to ThinkPad Stack Assistant.
 For Windows, If ThinkPad Stack Assistant displays “No available
network”, enter Windows® Wi-Fi settings, and connect to the Wi-Fi that
you created in step 5 and return to ThinkPad Stack Assistant.
8. Press Log in, input the admin password you set for the router, and press
Login to complete initializing the router.
Notes:
 After the router is initialized, plug an RJ-45 Ethernet cable that can
access the Internet to the router to enable Internet connections.
