• Between human beings and non-human entities


• Communication between dog and a man
• Parrot responding to human beings
• Communication with machines or robots
Intrapersonal Communication
• Within the individual
• Communication from various parts of body to brain
and vice versa
• Without this one can not proceed to interpersonal or
organizational communication
• Self motivation
• Self determination
Interpersonal Communication
•  It involves two parties-a sender and a receiver
who use common language to transit message
either through oral communication or written
communication.
• Role of the sender and receiver keep alternating
• Feedback is immediate and direct (face to face
communication)
• Formal/ informal
Organizational Communication

•  In a team-based business organization, communication


becomes its lifeblood.
• The flow of communication inside an organization may
filter in up, down and horizontal directions.
• Three Types:
» Internal Operational
» External Operational
» Personal
Mass Communication
•   Newspapers, magazines and periodicals - the
means of mass communication.
• Press Interviews, Advertisements
• Besides, technologies such as the intemet, e-
mail. voicemail, faxes etc. have increased options
for internal and external communication.
• Large Reach
• Impersonality
• Presence of a gatekeeper
