A function R(x) is said to be rational function of x if and only if there exist
polynomials f(x) and g(x) such that R(x) = f(x) / g(x). The function f(x) / g(x) 𝟑𝒙𝟐 −𝟖𝒙−𝟑
sometimes is called a rational fraction.
A proper fraction is a rational fraction where the degree of the numerator is less
than the degree of denominator.
An improper fraction is one where the degree of the numerator is greater than
equal to the degree of denominator.
