Structure Level Assignment Keanne
2. What is the correct structural order of the following terms: atom, organ, cell, organism,
tissue?
3. Which organ system includes the heart and blood vessels? Which organ system includes the
kidneys?
Circulatory system is the system which includes the heart and the blood vessel. Urinary system
is the system which includes the kidney.
4. List the order of the levels of organization in biological life forms from simplest to most
complex and give an example of something from each level of the scale.
Chemical level– this is the most basic structural level and is the basic structure of any living or
non-living things it involves atoms, molecules and others.
Cellular level– the human body is composed of almost 200 types of cells inside the human body.
It is the basic structure of organs inside the body and it is collectively how an organism exist and
take form such examples are epithelial cells, nerve cells, muscle cells and other connective
tissues.
Tissue level– In order for organs to take form and function, it requires immense amount of cells
which forms tissues. Like cells it can also be epithelium tissues, connective tissues, muscle
tissues and others.
Organ level– In this level, organs are formed to create a function which contribute to the
complex structure of organisms. This may include the brains, the heart, the stomach, the liver
and others. They play very vital role as it gives function to the organism and allow it to exist.
Organ system level– An organ itself cannot function alone. It requires the function of other
organs with the help of other organs to suffice the needs of the other, Example is the circulatory
system which shows how the blood is pumped throughout the body and also how oxygen
travels throughout the human or an organism.
Organismal level- This is where all the level work together to form an organism, complex
structures which makes organism functions and interact in the environment. Example of
complex structure which forms organism are humans animals and other living organism.
5. List the order of the levels of organization in biological life forms from simplest to most complex
and give an example of something from each level of the scale.
