STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
“Engineering is a manifestation of simple facts which opens our minds to new horizons!!”

I (AMAR VUDAYAGIRI) am seeking admission for M.S. in Electrical Engineering. I will be


completing undergraduate degree (B.Tech in ECE) course in April 2012 from Jawaharlal Nehru
Technological University-Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India.

My under graduate studies were like a stepping stone towards achieving my goal. My career
objective is to reach great heights in the Electrical field and to achieve my true potential. Hence
I strongly feel that a graduate program would enable me to delve deeper into my field and
impart a sense of direction to my career. I realized that studying in an American University
would be just the right choice for me. Through the experience of the students who have already
made it to the U.S. from India and from books, I have come to know that the standard of
education and the ambience of studying in USA are quite superior.

Having learnt from the past, I live in the present with an eye on the future. My foremost
dream in life is to be acknowledged and congratulated for my academic achievements. This
desire is the main motivation in me wanting to pursue my masters in an esteemed university. In
this ever changing world of Engineering and Technology, passing days makes them obsolete, I
want to attain the highest level of education and transcend new scope for research in
Embedded Systems. This has always fascinated me and I am keen to continue my academic
pursuit in this field.

I was born into a family where education and original thinking are valued greatly. I have
always had a natural propensity for science and mathematics, but my interest in Embedded
Systems is the culmination of a childhood curiosity. I remember fiddling with electronic devices
hoping to discover how they work. This persuaded me in taking up the subject in my B.Tech
program. In subsequent semesters, I undertook a project related to Embedded systems named
“Advanced Vehicle Parking System Using IR & Ultra-Sonic Sensors”. This experience has
stimulated my appetite for research.

On completion of my studies, I would like to pursue a career in a reputed corporation to


gain practical experience and to imbibe and assimilate the knowledge. Skills and experience
gained in America will equip me to take up the unique challenges and tremendous
opportunities in the field of Electrical Engineering. I perceive higher studies in the field of
Electrical Engineering as an opportunity to quench my ever-emerging fascinations and pursue a
research work in future to contribute a new morning of inventions to the world.

The American universities have always pioneered the research in Embedded Systems. Being
a prospective student for new challenging ideas, I believe that an opportunity for higher
education in U.S.A. would be a unique fortuity to test and prove my ability and also to enrich
and broaden my keen with transition to a new setting. I want to help build that tomorrow - at
your esteemed university. As a university that boasts of eminent faculty members, vast library,
state of art facilities and enviable infrastructure yours is certainly a center of excellence.
AMAR VUDAYAGIRI

Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Embedded Systems shall be a


step towards my aim. Throughout my B.Tech program, I have been an honors student with
scores consistently among the top 10% students of HOD’s list (Head of Dept.) and securing an
aggregate of 76.05%.

I participated in Paper presentation competition held in “WISHV@11”-A Two-Day National


Level Technical Fest at NRIIT on the topic “Pill camera” and bagged 1 st prize. I participated in
Poster presentation competition held in “National level technical symposium VignanMahostav
2011” on the topic “Blu-ray” and bagged 1st prize. I participated in Poster presentation
competition held in “VignanUtsav 2011” held at our college on the topic “Blu-ray” and again
bagged 1st prize. I attended a workshop on “Aqua-Robotics” organized by “Orange Research
Labs” at Vignan’s Lara Institute of Technology and Science. I attended a workshop on “Soft Skills
& Employability Skills Training (SET) Program” organized by JNTU Kakinada, in association with
“Corporate Labs Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad” at Vignan’s Lara Institute of Technology and Science. I
believe that these experiences shall be an asset while at graduate school and to strengthen my
case for a teaching assistantship. 

My academic life has been intriguing and challenging in all fields. However, being into the
Embedded Systems, I knew this was home. A graduate program at your Electrical Engineering
Department would be the logical next step to further my academic interests. If given a chance, I
would be glad to work in the Embedded Systems Lab. It would be an honor to study and work
at your university. 

At this juncture, I can assure you total commitment, dedication and hard work. I am
confident that joining your institution will give me the impetus in the right direction to start my
career and give me enough scope to master my chosen field of interest.
