RESOLUTION NO.

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR, EDWARD T. QUILALA


TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH THE
DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SETTLEMENTS AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
REPRESENTED BY ATTY. RAYMUNDO A. FORONDA, OIC, REGIONAL
DIRECTOR OF REGION 1 RELATIVE TO THE INCLUSION OF THE
MUNICIPALITY OF CURRIMAO, PROVINCE OF ILOCOS NORTE, AMONG THE
BENEFICIARIES OF ITS TOWN PLANNING AND ZONING ASSISTANCE
PROGRAM.

WHEREAS, the municipality of Currimao, province of Ilocos Norte believes that


continuous development of a municipality without the aid and guidance of a development
plan will give rise to uncontrolled development.

WHEREAS, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development


(DHSUD) as a regulatory arm in housing and land use development which aims to
achieve well-planned communities, has been enjoined by Executive Order No. 648 as
amended by Executive Order No. 90 series of 1986 to provide/extend technical assistance
in the formulation of the CLUP to local government units;

WHEREAS, the Office of the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator is


presently updating the town plan to direct its development policies, strategies and
activities; hence, sees the need to avail of the services of DHSUD in order to hasten its
formulation, adoption and implementation.

NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved, as it is hereby resolved, to authorize the


Municipal Mayor, Edward T. Quilala to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)
with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Developement (DHSUD)
represented by Atty. Raymundo A. Foronda, OIC, Regional Director of Region 1 relative
to the inclusion of the municipality of Currimao, province of Ilocos Norte among the
beneficiaries of its Town Planning and Zoning Assistance Program.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to OIC,


Regional Director, Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development-Region 1,
3rd Floor, Florentino Building, Gen. Luna St., San Fernando City, La Union and all other
concerned, for their information and appropriate action.

Adopted, this ________ day of ______________________ at the Municipal Session
