THE PROBLEM
I am submitting to you a proposed solution for solid waste management in our barangay.
the absence of proper solid waste management techniques is a prevalent concern in the
area. Lack of municipal management capacity has harmed the barangay’s ability to offer
basic garbage collection and disposal services, resulting in a slew of social and
environmental problems. The barangay’s rapid urbanization and population development
have resulted in increased garbage collection and an uncontrolled waste disposal
problem.
I propose that our barangay install smart dustbins in every household of Tagas. The
dustbins should help resolve the solid waste management that this barangay lacks. This
project can be completed in four weeks and costs ₱790,000.
PROPOSED PROJECT
Solid waste management through the installation of smart dustbins is a long-term vision
in which society members are first educated about wastes and their types, and then
dustbins are placed in the households according to a waste category.
Managing solid waste is one of the major challenges of urbanization. Municipalities are
solely responsible for solid waste collection, transportation, treatment, and final disposal.
Only a few people have access to basic garbage creation and composition data. Almost
everyone lacks the financial and managerial skills needed to be effective and efficient in
this field.
Dry, moist, and recyclable garbage will be separated in the dustbin. The plastic,
aluminum-containing bags, and cigarette buds will be separated and upcycled into new
items in the future. We'd want to finish this job in a month.
JUSTIFICATION
This method has been applied in Manila's other cities. According to reports, a comparable
approach was successful in resolving solid waste management issues. Garbage collection
has grown more convenient and efficient.
I suggest that we invite The Department of Environment and Natural Resources to install
these Smart Dustbins in every household of Barangay Tagas Professionals with
experience in education, microfinance, Self Help Groups, natural resource management,
research, and training make up the management team.
SCHEDULE
To avoid disrupting routine operations, the project execution for this proposal will take
four weeks, starting the second week of January 2022 and ending in mid-February. The

CONCLUSION
I have been attempting to raise awareness via cleaning campaigns on a regular basis, as
well as numerous organizations committed to the social and environmental sectors, will
work on this initiative to make Barangay Tagas a zero-waste barangay. In this golden
period of transition, the city of Tabaco, Albay, awaits a severe renovation based on
creativity and technology. We hope to collaborate with the DENR Bicol to make Tagas a
zero-waste barangay, which is the very first step in the nation's development and
prosperity. Hoping for your support and active participation in making Tagas clean and
zero-waste, which is the very first step in the nation's development and prosperity.
