1 Introduction to Shuttle Devices
Contour
Design’s
Shu0le
devices
have
been
designed
to
enhance
the
producAvity
and
versaAlity
of
mulAmedia
content
creaAon
soOware
packages,
but
they
can
also
increase
producAvity
in
many
other
types
of
applicaAons,
including:
•Word processing
•Spreadsheet manipulaAon
•Internet operaAons
•Medical imaging
Contour
Shu0le
devices
consist
of
two
(2)
components:
the
ergonomically
designed
device
itself
and
the
soOware
that
allows
you
to
manage
it.
All
Contour
Design
Shu0le
devices
have
a
Jog
wheel
and
a
Shu0le
ring
that
are
programmable.
The
Shu0leXpress
(Fig.
1.3)
has
five
(5)
programmable
bu0ons,
the
Shu0lePRO
(Fig.
1.2)
has
thirteen
(13)
programmable
bu0ons,
and
the
Shu0lePRO
v2
(Fig.
1.1)
has
fiOeen
(15).
The
two
top
rows
of
bu0ons
on
the
Shu0lePRO
and
Shu0lePROv2
have
removable
caps
so
the
included
labels
can
be
inserted
for
quick
reference
as
to
which
funcAons
each
bu0on
is
programmed
to
perform.
Bu0ons,

will
be
referred
to
as

Q: How do I use my Shu/le device with Apple Logic Pro X?
A:
To
uAlize
the
Shu0le
device
mapping
with
Logic
Pro
X
to
its
fullest
extent,
it
is
necessary
to
use
the
provided
Logic
Pro
Key
Commands
file.
This
file
contains
Logic's
default
key
commands
plus
a
few
extra
assignments
that
map
out
to
the
Shu0le
device
controls.
ImporAng
the
accompanying
Logic
Key
Commands
file
is
necessary,
as
some
of
these
advanced
funcAons
are
not
assigned
by
default.
Due
to
the
highly
configurable
nature
of
Logic
Audio,
please
be
aware
that
by
replacing
your
Logic
Preferences
via
the
steps
outlined
below,
you
will
be
erasing
all
user-‐made
key
assignments.
If
you
want
to
uAlize
the
Shu0le
device
with
your
pre-‐exisAng
key
commands,
it
is
of
course
quite
easy
to
change
the
key
assignments
that
the
Shu0le
device
sends
accordingly.
Please
refer
to
the
Shu0le
device
Control
Panel,
where
all
funcAons
are
notated
under
the
comments
field.
To
configure

for
your
Shu0le
device:
2. Open Key Commands window and choose Edit (Logic Pro X > Key Commands > Edit).
4. Select the Logic Preferences file that came with the Shu0le device and click "Open."
