Agaton C. Rodriguez Elementary School in Pili, Camarines Sur conducted an orientation and distributed a Parent Toolkit to 8 parents/guardians of kindergarten students. The purpose was to enhance the parents' knowledge of integrating the kindergarten curriculum at home through play-based learning. The Toolkit includes activities to help parents develop their child's literacy skills at home in a supportive way. NARRATIVE REPORT on ORIENTATION and DISTRIBUTION of PARENT TOOLKIT


Our school, Agaton C. Rodriguez Elementary School (Pili West District) conducted the
Orientation and Distribution of Parent Toolkit to our Kindergarten Parents/Guardians. The
purpose of the said orientation was to enhance the knowledge of the parents and guardians of
kindergarten learners on how to integrate the Kindergarten curriculum and competencies
within the four corners of their homes through play-based learning approached.

The Parent Toolkit being distributed is intended to support the work of parents as they are
the first and most important teachers of their child/children. It will also serve as a guide to parents

and guardians in providing ideas to use as they support the learning at home of their child/children.
The Toolkit includes activities that parents/guardians may want to engage with their child/children on
developing the skills in the different domains of kindergarten literacy appropriate for home-
based learning.

The Orientation and Distribution of Parent Toolkit) was conducted through a mode of
Formal Face-to -Face (F3) delivery. The school Kindergarten teacher presented the program to
the eight (8) parents/guardians of Kindergarten learners. The program was held last Tuesday,
June 1, 2021. The parents/guardians participants observed and followed the minimum health
protocols at all times the program was being conducted.

Our school as part of the institution of education, we promote to help our


parents/guardians as they are the child/children first teachers and their home is their
child/children first classroom in shaping/molding their child/children social, emotional and
physical development so that he/she can thrive in school and beyond. As we impart knowledge
to the parents/guardians for them to help their own learners in helping them to develop their
literacy skills effectively. Our school, with the teachers and parents/guardians working together
as partners, to enhance Kindergarten learners to be prepared in the future and make learners
do better at home and at school.
