TRAINING GOAL:
Knowledge of major building materials and construction equipment. Allows interns to
gain a better understanding of building projects and construction phases. Learning about
physical labor as well as workers' manners and personalities, as well as their ability to
cope with manual labor.

For any internship to be successful, the training site, university, and student must all
work together. Each party has an important role to play, and their efforts must be
carefully coordinated. Furthermore, the training site must be committed and dedicated
to educating future Engineering professionals.

ENGINEER INTERN BASIC PURPOSE:

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibility for providing engineering
expertise, guidance and technical assistance to state agencies, consultants, and the
public. Incumbents accomplish this by performing engineering tasks and by reviewing
and evaluating the work of consultants, contractors and facility operators,
under the supervision of a professional engineer.

The internship program of Melham Construction Corporation ensures that the interns will gain
indispensable, real-world experience in different key areas demonstrated by professionals in the industry
including research, planning, execution, and evaluation through hands-on tasks and activities. With the
implementation of the company’s internship program, interns are expected to develop the following skills:

Technical Skills
• Develop social media knowledge of different platforms and social media analytics
• Be able to fully utilize the use of productivity software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel,
PPT, etc.) and Google Suites (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
• Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Develop insights and strategies regarding project planning
• Have a knack for research, be it internet research or market research
• Be able to create and carry out visual presentations

Communication Skills
• Can work in a team, develop camaraderie, and use interpersonal skills collaboratively
• Develop oral and written communication skills
• Expand their network of professional relationships and contacts
• To adapt and familiarize communicating in a formal tone especially in dealing with potential clients.
• Develop their initiative and leadership skills

The company’s internship program aims that the interns acquire a particular set of skills through different
tasks and activities specific to their degree program and field of study following the completion of the
internship. The company also aims to make the interns ready for the corporate world, as such, they are
expected to develop the following skills in one of the three key areas below:

Engineering Courses (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics)


• Define their field of engineering and demonstrate its key concepts
• Gain a better understanding of building projects and construction phases
• Perform engineering inspections of systems operations and of structures
and facilities during construction
• Identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems using engineering, science, and
mathematical principles
• Understand ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations
• Make informed decisions that take into account the impact of engineering solutions in global,
economical, environmental, and societal contexts
• Design and carry out appropriate experiments, analyze and interpret data, and draw engineering
conclusions
• Be able to work in real-life scenarios in their respective engineering fields

MELHAM CONSTRUC
ACCOMPLISHMENT BY INTERNS

The interns undergo in Research and Development of Engineering Department for one
week. We assured that the intern should be able to observe and participate in all
aspects of engineering. In their second week each intern work on a unique research or
study project that allow them to thoroughly investigate a problem or condition and
make meaningful recommendations. The Project Proposal will be chosen in such a way
that it benefits both the training site and the student. Also, the ability to use
engineering design was enhanced to create solutions that meet specific needs while
taking into account public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social,
environmental, and economic factors. Also, we assigned them in engineering team
that enhanced the ability to work effectively on a team in which members provide
leadership, foster a collaborative and inclusive environment, set goals, plan tasks, and
meet objectives. The other task of interns depends on the task they have shared with
their group.
