Mental Maths: Multiplying 2–Digit Numbers by 11

Find the value of 27 × 11.


STRATEGY
Step 1: 2 + 7 = 9 [add the two digits]
Step 2: Place digit 9 in between digits, 2 and 7.
If the sum obtained in step (1) is more than 9, just increase the first digit of
the answer by 1.
27 × 11 = 297
