Assertiveness Practice
Learning to be assertive takes practice. To start, I will write out what I want to say if I
were to be assertive. I will write it down here to get some practice in. I can also ask
someone I trust to go over this with me. They can help me fill it out or even help me
practice saying it out loud. When I feel ready, I will then start using what I learn in my
practice in real life – I will use these steps to be assertive with people.

Step One: Identify the Problem

I can do this every time I feel like I am not being assertive. If I keep practicing first, it will
help me learn how to act assertively.
