Question B1
ans
Context Diagram
Context Diagram is a designing tool which is use to show the relationship that the system has with
other external entities. It is also know as context-Level Data-Flow Diagram or Level-0 Data Flow
Diagram. It does not require technical knowledge to understand.
Name Customer
Description
Data Flow
QUESTION B2
~Feasibility study
Feasibility study is the process of analyzing whether the whole process of system analysis
leading to computerization would be profitable ,meaningful , constructive and feasible for
organization to develop or not. It is conducted once the system goal is set. and it is basically the
test of the develop system in terms of cost efficiency, work ability and effective use of
resources. .There are different levels of feasibility studies some of them are as follow;
Technical Feasibility
Economic feasibility
operational feasibility
social feasibility
Time (schedule) feasibility
Operational feasibility
Operational feasibility studies whether the user can operate the new system or not. It depends
upon human resources for the implementation and development of the new system. It is
considered whether the experienced manpower and qualified manpower is available for
development and implementation of the system or not. It determine the general skills ,
capabilities and training of the existing personnel. It determines how well the develop system
solve the problems and how it satisfies the requirements identified in the analysis phase of
system development. It includes PIECES framework which is a problem solving framework in
the phase of system development. The survey conducted to determine the flaws of the existing
Restaurant Management System at bistro with respect to the PIECES
PIECES
PIECES is one of the perspective of frameworks for identifying and understanding requirements. It can
serve as tool to classify the opportunities, problem and directives identified in system. The letters of
the PIECES acronym as;
P(Performance):
Through put rate of bistro is sluggish. It is not presentable because records have to search to maintain
in a files whereas in the newly proposed system through put is swift , The records are totally
computerized so that the records can be easily modify. At the manual system it consumes time to search
data of the customers but in new system it takes short time to find customer records. The proposed
framework for Bistro Restaurant must be able to deliver invoice , sales report, bill and order .
Information
I. Input:
It is used to enter the data in a system to be processed. For instance customer records, raw
materials, orders and so on. In the legacy system information are recorded in the register which
creates errors due to replication of same name and it is more time consumption system but in
newly proposed system time consume is very low and can be store more numbers of data in a
minutes. Data redundancy is very low in new develop system.
II. Output
It is difficulties to search the data especially when some change have to be done . It takes more
time while searching the data of the customer. In new system it will be easy to update, delete
names ,orders of the customer and it takes less times to search data .
III. Store data
Records are store in a register which is not save which can be operate by anyone . Once the file
is destroyed it is not available so to prevent from such damages and problems New system is
proposed were files are only operate by real personal and it helps to keep data confidential.
Economic
Economic play vital role in every organization. legacy system is require materials such as register, Pen
and other stuff to keep records of the customer but in new develop system every things done with
computer so it is less expensive and more reliable then old system.
Efficiency
It is complicated to sort out particular information from whole information. It is difficulties to avoid
redundancy when information is repeated. legacy system is less effective and slow. New system is more
effective and fast to immediate processing .New system is develop to avoid redundancy.
Service
This is the last stage of PIECES framework .The service of the bistro Restaurant is very slow it is not
the satisfactory level but in the new system services is fast and it takes less time to generate bills and
reports.
QUESTION B3
System deployment is the process to make software system available to use and makes ready to
delivered to owners or clients. In this phase of system deployment owners and customer are informed
about the lunching date and time of the product and system.
Restaurant management system use fully computerized system to keep records, generate bills , invoice
number about customer payments. Customer details, order list ,food items are recorded in a database of
the restaurant so it is easy to search particular information about customer.
There are different stage of system deployment. Some of them are as follow
Packaging software
Deployment Scheduling
Packaging software
In this phase, operation are prepared for system to transfer customer information into customer site. In
this process source codes are converted to execution for easy setup and installation of the system in a
computer. At packing software two different manuals are prepared one for user and another for technical.
Deployment scheduling
In this phase of deployment , All the information should be inform to stakeholders about deployments
events. There are plan backup for old system and update for new system in a cloud. In the deployment
scheduling for local system installation at user place, it is necessary to recognize stakeholder involved
in the system and informed about data and time for installation.
System Changeover is the process of changing old Information system with new system. It is also the
smooth sifting of old system with new system. If the old system is outdated or hard on processing than
system should be update or change according to the new technologies.
Direct Changeover
Direct changeover is the change occur in the system immediately after old to new. It is the riskiest way of
change over where no data can be restored if it was damaged because old system was destroyed. Users
should be with enough confident to make this change over on their system .In this change over once the
system is broken it effect whole system of the organization. This is the cheapest method to store
information. There is high chance to loss data from database.
Pilot Changeover
Like pilot research this change over is also done in certain branches or devices of the company. And later on
gradually change occur on all over the company. This change over helps users to know about the system on
pilot phase. Damage of system can’t affect the whole system of the industry. -
Phase Changeover
Phase change over is the combination of direct and parallel changeover. In this type of change only one part
or phase of the system will be implemented. After user get the perfect knowledge about the particular phase
then next implementation will be done. In this way all implementation will be done gradually. It may takes
time but it is the safest way of changeover strategies.
Over all, By looking to the different System Changeover strategies Restaurant Management System is
Phase Changeover because it is the safest way of change over and no extra spacing needed. Information are
more secure because all the records are store in a restaurant database therefore only authentic user have
access to the database .There is no any disturbance when there is any problems arise in a single system .
This system is more reliable and effective to store information so that phase change over strategies is
suitable for restaurant management system.. This system does not affect the work flow of the system.
