METHOD STATEMENT

INSTALLING POTTED PLANT.

Material:

Materials: Tools:
1. Mixed Soil (3:2:1) 1. Hoe
2. Pot 2. Gunny bags
3. Geotextile 3. Chiam
4. Drain cells

The Process:

1. Position the pots ate the appointed area.

2. Install drain cell inside and bottom of the pots

3. Lay out geotextile to cover the drain cell and the inside of the pots

4. Put in soil about half of the pots’ height.

5. Insert the plant and add on more soil to cover the root ball.

Functions of the items used:

1. Drain cell; to make sure that there in a space between the outlet, geotextile and soil as to minimise any
clogging.
2. Geotextile; to hold the soil mix in place and to avoid any soil leach from the pots
3. Soil mix (3:2:1); Consist of 3 parts soil, 2 parts sand and 1 part organic material
a. Soil; basic medium for any planting and may hold up nutrient and water.
b. Sand; used to make sure there are space between the soil for aeration and will make way for extra
water to pass through
c. Organic material; to supply the plants with basic nutrients with less transplanting shock.
