ACTIVITY OUTLINE

STRATEGY : Thematic Approach

THEME : Fruits

TITLE : Yummy Fruit Salad

CONTENT STANDARD : BI 1.2 Listen to understand and respond appropriately

LEARNING STANDARD : BI 1.2.4 Listen to and follow simple instructions

OBJECTIVES : Pupils should be able to listen to four fruits name

Pupils should be able to follow simple instructions on how to


make fruits salad correctly

TEACHING AIDS : Slide, flashcards, fruits, yogurt, bowl, spoon

CONTENT : Fruits – Banana, Kiwi, Grapes, Apple

STAGE STEPS
1. Teacher plays a role as a chef.
SET INDUCTION 2. Teacher shows variety of fruits to the pupils in a fruit
(5 MINUTES) basket.
3. Pupils guess the names of the fruits shown by teacher.
4. Pupils describe the fruits.
1. Teacher shows a mystery box.
INTRODUCING NEW 2. Teacher shows fruits names using flash cards and
LANGUAGE slideshow.
(10 MINUTES) 3. Teacher demonstrates on how to pronounce fruits
names.
4. Pupils repeat the pronunciation of the fruits.
5. Pupils pronounce the name of the fruits together with
teacher.
6. Teacher calls out a few pupils to pronounce the fruits
name in front of the class

PRACTISING NEW 1. Teacher divides pupils into three group.


LANGUAGE 2. One member of each group come to the front and take
(10 MINUTES) utensils and ingredients.
3. Teacher introduces each utensil and ingredient.
4. Teacher also present slideshow about utensils and
ingredient.
5. Teacher reminds pupils to take turns and share.
6. Pupils listen to the teachers’ instruction and follow
teacher step to make fruits salad.
7. Pupils start to make their own fruit salad in groups.

1. Teacher recalls today’s lesson.


CLOSURE 2. Pupils show their own fruit salads to the class.
(5 MINUTES) 3. Pupils share their feelings.
4. Teacher praises the pupils for the cooperation.
5. Pupils get reward.
6. Teacher and student recite prayer, eat and share their
fruit salads together with their group.
