Comp 552 Introduction To Cybersecurity Winter 2022 Logbook Reporting Week # Information About Storage of Information Date: 23 Jan 2022
Introduction:
overall purpose of the lab was how to protect data from being hacked by keeping
strong password as well as lecture also delivered information about Stuxnet and
iron Gate. The distinction between Stuxnet and iron gate was also discussed.
Acitivites :
• Importance of strong password
• Control waste water
• Lower/raise temperature of waste water
• Nuclear facility
Discussion:
The topic of computer worm was discussed in lecture and also about original
Stuxnet malware attack target the programmable logic controllers used to
automate machine processes. Moreover, the topic of iron gate was defined in
lecture that is IRONGATE's key feature is a man-in-the-middle attack against
process input-output and process operator software within industrial process
simulation. The malware replaces a Dynamic Link Library with a malicious DLL,
which then acts as a broker between a PLC and the legitimate monitoring
software. Furthermore, the disaster effects of hacking was elaborated and also
give advice about keeping strong passwords including symbols and letters.
Conclusion:
In nutshell, the lecture was delineated information about passwords, computer
worm, malfunction software, nuclear facility, waste water control system.
Although the data is safely secured in phones and laptops but we should keep
data private and protect by using strong passwords.
