SWOT ANALYSIS OF MYMUL

SWOT analysis is good for analyzing a company and also it


is a tool for auditing a company and its environment. This analysis
will give a cross section of the company. It is the first stage of
planning and help marketers to focus on key issues.

1.STRENGTH
Huge Demand:
There is a huge demand for Nandini milk and milk products in the
market. Milk is very much needed for the children and the people to
get good calories, vitamin and nutritional. There is increased
population in India; hence there is increased demand for milk
products.

Availability of Milk:
Union can easily get required milk with less cost from the rural
area according to the need. Hence is a good availability of milk for
MYMUL.

Nandini Brand:
Nandini milk, Nandini curd etc. Nandini products are well
branded in the market because of their quality.

Man Power:
There is well experienced, professionally trained technical
employees are working in the company with minimum experience of
15 years. It helps organization to maintain the quality of the product.

And some other strengths are as follows:

1. Nandini enjoys good brand image.

2. Large procurement base.

3. Huge infrastructure for processing.

4. Competitive prices.

5. Product dairies network leads to regular and timely supply.

6. Milk processed is local milk, which reduces the transportation

cost.

2.WEAKNESS
Inadequate Transportation, Bad condition of roads and
inadequate transportation facilities makes milk procurement
problematic.

No Cattle Form:
MYMUL has no cattle form in its own, it becomes one of the
major weakness of the company.

It focused more only on rural segment and very less concentration on


urban area.

Less Social Security:

New employee has less security, e.g.: accommodation is not


provided to new employees where in it restricts their stay for a long
period.

Some of other weakness are as follows:

1. Limited advertisements.

2. No credit business.

3. Perishable commodity.

4. Bureaucratic method of functions.


3.OPPORTUNITIES
Exports:
There is a demand for Nandini products in other states vice
Kerala, Goa. So, it can export its products of those states along
with Tamilnadu and Andrapradesh.

Employment:
It provides more employment opportunities to the people.
Currently there are 500 employees are working in the
organization.
Young, enthusiastic employees put their best efforts, which
results in the growth of organization. The brand, image of the
firm helps it to enter areas quickly.

Some of other opportunities are as follows:

1. Huge markets demand.

2. There is scope for developing in new area.

3. Availability of buffalo milk-improves market milk quality.

4. Predominant of loose milk segment divide strategies.

4. THREATS
Market uncertainty:
There is a price fluctuation in the market, it may lead to decrease
to demand and there by reduction in profit.

Competition:
Competitors are coming with similar product, this is the main
threat posed by the external environment. Many private firms have
entered into manufacturing of dairy products, there is a tough
competition for Nandini like “AROGYA, JERSY, AMUL and many
more.

Some of other competitors are as follows:

1. Increase of competitor’s milk vendor, unorganized sector.

2. Flexibility in commission structure.

3. Low level of consumer awareness.

4. No entry barriers for private players.

STRATEGIES
  MYMUL is formulating appropriate strategies in
order to meet the challenges and to develop and strengthen dairy co-
operative movements on the following thrust namely:

 Procurement, processing and marketing


 Quality assurance programme
 Reasonable pricing.

  Pricing decisions are subject to an incredibly complete

array of environmental and competitive forces. MYMUL set not a

single price, but rather a pricing structure that covers different items

in its line. This pricing structure changes over time as products move

through their life cycle. The organization adjusts product prices to

reflect changes in costs and demand and to account for variation in

buyers and situations. As the competitive environment changes,

company considers when to initiated price changes and how to


respond to them. Different prices are charged to different types of

milk on the basis of FAT and SNF [Solid not FAT].
