LESSON 1: COUNTING FROM 1 – 100

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
During and at the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
1. Students will be able to memorize numbers from 1- 100.
2. Students will be able to recognize the numbers from 1 to 100 when spoken and will be
able to convey information themselves using numbers.
3. To be able to help children understand the meaning of numbers.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
Topic: COUNTING FROM 1- 100

III.PROCEDURE
A. APPROACH/EYE OPENER
Preliminary Activity:
Goodmorning Class! Goodmorning maam!

So everybody stand up and let us pray. (somebody will lead the prayer)

Okay so before we go back to our chair (the students will follow)


kindly pick up the pieces of paper.
Okay so did I give any assignment to you No maam.
yesterday?
Okay if there’s none. Before we start with our
lesson, we are going to play a game. So All of the students will stand up.
everybody stand up !
Our game is called:
“THE BOAT IS SINKING”
Mechanics:
1. The teacher will ask the students to stand
up for an activity
2. Students must stand and participate as
the teacher explains the mechanic of the
game.
Yes ma’am!
Okay so as I say “the boat is sinking the boat is
sinking, group yourselves in to 2 ! You must
find yourselves a group mate and make sure you
are only 2 or the number I will say. Can you get
it?
Okay lets start! The students will find themselves a
group mate to complete their own 5
The teacher will shout “The boat is sinking the groups
boat is sinking! Group your selves in to five!”

The game continues until the teacher say so.

Students will sit down.


Okay that’s enough guys you may now take
your seats and have some air.

B. PRESENTATION/DEVELOPMENT:
Before we start , let me show you our
objectives for today.
During and at the end of the lesson,
students are expected to:

themselves using numbers.

numbers.
Based on our activity, how did you group your We’ve group ourselves by counting
selves according to numbers I said? until we reached our desired group
number.

When you are counting, on what number do you


always start? We always start with number 1.
Very good! So to continue , I will introduce you
our topic for today which is Counting Number
1-100.
Somebody will raise his/her hand.
Any volunteer to read what’s on the board?

Counting Numbers are defined as the set of


numbers that we used to count anything. All-
natural numbers are counting numbers. And
these numbers are always positive. Examples
are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 , 6, 7 , 8 , 9, 10 up to 100.
I have here the table of counting numbers from
1-100 and you can copy and study it for your
quiz later on.

Yes ma’am!
Does everyone understand our lesson?
Very good! Yes ma’am.
So I have here a little activity for you guys , and
for those who know the answer they can raise
their hands? Okay?

Wow, great job guys! You all know how to count
from 1-100 very well !

So for our last activity for today before we go to


our quiz. I will give you answer sheet and you
will match the numbers in words with the
numbers in figures.

Nine – 9
Four- 4

F. CLOSURE
Wow , I am very impressed with you kids ,
lets clap our hands for our active
participation in our class!
So always remember that Counting numbers
include natural numbers that can be counted.
They start from 1 and the series continues as 1, 2,
3, 4, and so on. Zero is not included in counting
numbers because we cannot count 0.

G. EVALUATION (Gives 1 copy to each student)

So for our quiz you guys are going to:


Match the numbers in words with the
numbers in figures.
I will give you 20 minutes to answer the
quiz and you will pass it after.

Okay so kids pass the paper in front so The students will pass their papers in
that I can check your quiz later. front.
ASSIGNMENT:
Kids , before we end our class our assignment
for today is to memorize counting from 1-100 Goodbye maam!
because we will have a grade recitation for
tomorrow.
So that’s all for today thank you kids and
goodbye!
