What is Design-Build?
Design-Build is a construction delivery method that provides clients a single point of contact for
design and construction services. One entity holds single-source responsibility and contractual risk
for pre-construction, design and construction stages of the project. This entity manages all contracts,
including those with sub-contractors.

Design-Build vs. Traditional Project Delivery Methods

Design-Build offers many advantages over standard methods of project procurement where architect,
engineer, contractor and other service providers are engaged separately. It is the fastest, most cost-
effective method and it offers the best quality solution. Projects can be fast-tracked due to the overlap
in disciplines whereby the designer and builder are one. Furthermore, when sub-contractors can
participate from the onset of the project it provides many benefits such as open communication and
interactive collaboration. This method ultimately allows the client and Design-Builder to work toward
a common goal.
