Before the Recovery
1) This document describes how to recover the DP-30 diagnostic ultrasound system software.
System recovery includes operating system (Linux) recovery and application software (Doppler
software) recovery.
Note: This document is applicable to all versions unless specified otherwise.
2) The system recovery procedure for DP-10 and DP-20 is same as DP-30 though using different
software package.
3) Determine current software version: turn on the DP-30, press <Setup> key, and click on [About].
Write down current UPG Version number.
4) You need the following items:
a) A recovery USB flash drive with pre-loaded software from Mindray, or
b) Software package files (ZIP file) and an empty USB flash drive with minimum 2GB space.
5) Make sure the DP-30 is connected to AC power throughout the recovery. Do not cut off or shut
down the system during the process.
NOTE: If recovering Doppler to 02.00.00 version or higher versions, you need to recover
operating system to 2015-01-30 (Rev47005) version or higher versions at first.

2. Sample prompts of the incorrect operation
If the machine model is DP-30 series, the main board ID is 9.3.1, the control panel identification
code is 2308, and the new non-Power DP-10 software package is used:
The system will fail to copy probe POD data, for the machine model is incompatible with the
software package. A prompt is displayed as follows.
If the machine model is DP-10 series, the main board ID is 9.0.1, the control panel identification
code is 2308, and the new Power DP-30 software package is used:
The system will fail to be recovered, for the machine model is incompatible with the software
package. A prompt is displayed as follows.
If the machine model is DP-20 series, the main board ID is 9.0.1, the control panel identification
code is 2308, and the new non-Power DP-20 software package is used:
The system will fail to recovered, for the main board is incorrect. A prompt is displayed as follows.

1 Step One - Data Backup
(1) Back up user preset data.
CAUTION: User preset data may be erased during the recovery. Mindray strongly
recommends backing up user presets prior to the recovery.
To back up user presets to a USB flash drive:
Plug a USB flash drive into the machine, press <SETUP> key on the keyboard
[Maintenance] [Preset Manager] [Export]. Select USB drive (usually it is drive F), and type
a name for the preset data file and click on [OK].
(2) Back up patient data.
CAUTION: Even though patient data including patient info, images, cine loops
and reports usually will not be affected during recovery, for safety
consideration, Mindray strongly recommends having all the patient
data backed up before the recovery.
Refer to operator’s manual for detailed instructions of how to backup patient data.
CAUTION: Patient data and presets from a software version might not be
compatible with other software versions.

2 Step Two – Make the Recovery
USB Flash Drive
(1) If you already have a recovery USB flash drive ordered from Mindray, this step is not necessary.
Continue to Step Three – System Recovery.
CAUTION: Formatting the USB flash drive will erase ALL the data on it. Back
them up prior to the formatting if necessary.
The system supports only FAT32 format USB disk.
The USB disk should contain only one partition.
Disconnect all the extra USB devices to the machine.
Plug in the USB flash drive into a computer (take Windows operating system as an example). Go
to My Computer, right click on the USB flash drive (Removable Disk) icon and select [Format].
Select FAT32 as File system, click [Start]. Click [OK] if it’s safe to erase all files on the USB flash
drive. A message ―Format Compete‖ will be displayed shortly.

You can download application software ZIP file in the path Software/Ultrasound Application
Software and operating system recovery software ZIP file in the path Software/Operating System
Software from TDP.
NOTE: Please locate the corresponding ultrasound model file folder to download the
software.
a) If you want to recover operating system software and application software, extract the operating
system software package ZIP file to the root directory of the USB flash drive, then extract
application software package ZIP file to the ―doppler‖ directory. Explore the USB flash drive on the
computer to make sure it has following files and folders.
Furthermore, for "Doppler" directory, please make sure that "Doppler" directory has following
folders and files; otherwise, the system will not find the route to recover application software after
operating system recovery.
Doppler: application software restoration data will be placed here. If the data exists, ultrasound
software will be automatically restored after the operating system is restored; otherwise, only
the OS will be installed.
b) If you only want to recover application software, extract the application software package ZIP file
to the root directory of the USB flash drive.
7
(4) Disconnect the USB drive from the computer.
8
3 Step Three – System Recovery
