1.1 Purpose
Amdocs OSS requires third party products to support its deployment. As part of the Amdocs
product release program, Amdocs validates its products against specific versions of the third
party software.
This document describes all of the third party software products on which the Amdocs OSS
has been validated. No additional third party software is required other than that described in
this document.
1.2 Audience
This document is provided to customers and partners to enable them to choose a
combination of hardware and software platform that meets their business requirements.
2.1 Overview
Amdocs OSS is certified on different “server stacks”. A server stack defines the full server
configuration including all platform software.
This section defines the server platform stacks upon which the majority of products within the
Amdocs OSS are supported.
Note that all products are not supported on all 4 server stacks. Please refer to Section
3 for details of the compatibility of each product with your chosen platform.

3. Any problems that are believed to arise from a difference in behaviour between the
virtual and non-virtual environments must be reported and handled by the vendor of
the virtual machine software.
In particular, Amdocs Support may require a problem that they believe is caused by the use
of a virtual machine environment to be reproduced upon a non-virtual environment before
accepting the problem as a Support case.
3.1 Overview
This section provides detailed information about the compatibility of each
Amdocs OSS product with the four server stacks identified in Section 2.
For convenience, the compatibility information is divided into sections according
to the major OSS functional areas as follows:
Service Management products are covered in Section 3.2
Resource Management products are covered in Section 3.3
Planning products are covered in Section 3.4
Activation products are covered in Section 3.5
Discovery products are covered in Section 3.6
Automation Packs are covered in Section 3.7

Note: The Activation Engine Agents can be deployed on a different machine to the one on
which the Activation Engine runs and these „remote agent‟ machines do not require the
Database or Application Server components of the software stacks.
4.1 Overview
This section provides detailed information about the platform compatibility of the user
interface and the developer-oriented interface to Amdocs OSS products.
For convenience, the compatibility information is divided into the following sections:
End-user client user interfaces are covered in Section 4.2
Developer and administrator oriented interfaces are covered in Section 4.3
Note that due to known issues with the initial public release of Internet Explorer 8, it is not
possible to drag panels within the Resource Manager, Unified Service Manager and Planning
Engine user interfaces to resize them.
Resizing the panels is still possible using the Maximize, Minimize and Restore buttons and
the Mouse Wheel. Before planning to use these products with Internet Explorer 8, it is
important to verify that these issues are acceptable to your user community.

5.1 Overview
In OSS 7.5 and prior releases of the Amdocs OSS an LDAP server was required to
store user account details, including authentication information and user
preferences. Starting with the Amdocs OSS 8 release the use of an LDAP server
is no longer required because authentication and authorization information is
managed within Amdocs Security Manager and user preferences are stored within
the Oracle database by default.
Customers who are upgrading to Amdocs OSS 8 from previous releases may
continue to use their existing LDAP integration. Please see Section 6 for details of
the End of Support policy.
The following list of LDAP servers have been validated for use with Amdocs OSS 8
and can be used interchangeably with the server stacks defined in Table 1.
Note that use of the LDAP server embedded in the WebLogic Application Server is no
longer supported for use in the Production environment due to limitations imposed by
Oracle.
6.1 Overview
This section defines the end of support schedule for OSS suite platforms. For details of the
end of support schedule for individual products please contact Amdocs Support.
7.1 Overview
In addition to the standard server stacks defined in Section 2, a subset of the Amdocs OSS
Suite is also certified on the stack defined in Table 26.
8.1 Overview
Note: This section contains details of platforms that are supported for specific
customers and are not generally available.
The following products must be validated on the SUN/IBM platform defined in Table 27.
None.
