Disasters can occur at any time and with little warning. It is critical to be prepared and have
a strategy in place to safeguard our house and family. Our family preparedness plan
includes steps we should do to be prepared for any emergency. First, we identify the sorts of
disasters that are most likely to occur in our area and learn how to prepare for each one.
Second, identify safe areas in our house for each sort of disaster, establish the safest escape
routes from our home, learn first aid and CPR, and educate each family member how and
where to turn off utilities. Finally, we go over the sorts of disasters that are most likely to
occur and explain what to do in each circumstance. We then assign duties to each family
member, plan to operate as a team, and designate where we will meet if a disaster hits.
