BRIEF INTRODUCTION
MUSIC : MUSIC ACCOMPANIMENT IMPROVISATION (localized instruments)
It is an ultimate form of art, perhaps the most perfected in the realm of music so far.
Nonetheless it is present in other art forms and virtually everything that we do on a daily basis
involves some kind of improvisation. Like life itself, musical improvisation is dynamic and ever-
adjusting to the world around us. When we put ourselves into groups for the purpose of
making music, we want the discussions to be musical as well as verbal. Improvisation can
provide us with a great opportunity to communicate and respond to each other through music,
in a way that has more immediacy than performing the music of others or composing through
the available materials found at home.

ARTS:RENAISSANCE AND BAROQUE ART INFLUENCED TO THE PHILIPPHINE ART CULTURE
For a long time, the Philippines were a Spanish colony, and the ideas brought by the Spanish
conquerors combined with local tradition, influences from China, Muslim invasions, and a very
seismic land. All that helped developed a Baroque architecture like no other in the world. Let's
find out more.
The Baroque started in the early 17th century in Italy as a new artistic style after the
Renaissance. It was promoted by the Catholic Church to show its power, in response to the
Protestant Reformation, and it became known for its abundance of ornaments and the
combination of different arts. From Italy, the new style quickly reached Spain, and from there it
spread through Spain's colonies, reaching the Americas and the Asian nation of the Philippines.
Baroque architecture was brought to the Philippines archipelago by the Spanish, during the first
years of the 16th century. This style developed there during the 17th century and most of the
18th century. It was a colonial architecture, so it took many references from Spanish Baroque
architecture and therefore we see some similarities between the Philippine style and Baroque
architecture of the Spanish colonies in the Americas.

C. The Fitness Side of Social Dancing and Dance Mixers

Select at least one social dances on the following CHACHA CHA, SWING,
JIVE and MAMBO, make a way to practice some basic steps of it by viewing in
you tube, asking your parents/elders or you can create your own step pattern
if you want to. Record or film it using any media platforms and submit it to
your teacher with the computation of THR (Target Heart Rate)

This is how to determine your THR (Target Heart Rate)

Step 1: Find your PMHR( Predicted Maximum Heart Rate)in beats per minute
by subtracting your age from 220:

220 - _______= (your Predicted maximum heart rate)

Example: 220-15 = 205 (PMHR of a 15- year old individual)

Step 2: You need to work out your lowest Target Heart Rate that you need to
aim for during exercises by multiplying PMHR by 60% or .6

__________ (PMHR) x .6 (60 %) = Lowest Target Heart Rate

Example: 205 x .6 = 123 beats per minute (that is the Lowest THR of 15 year-
old individual)

Step 3: Lastly you need to work for your Highest Target heart Rate that you
can aim for during exercises by multiplying your PMHR by 80% or .8

__________(PMHR) x.8 (80%) = Highest Target Heart Rate

Example: 205 x .8 = 164 beats/minute (Highest THR of 15 year-old individual)
