• Authorizations transition to specializations: We are expanding the definition of specializations to include most of the
current authorizations. This means that for the first time, the investment you’ve made in authorizations now counts
toward certification requirements. The exceptions are IP Fabric for Media, which will be retired, and Enterprise
Agreement, which will become a designation and not a specialization.
• New specialization category: The Express category is being relabelled to Specialized. This means we will have three
specialization categories; Specialized, Advanced, and Master. As a result, the Express Specialization tracks simply
become stand-alone specializations with the exception of the Service Provider and Collaboration tracks. Those two
tracks will be retired.
Here’s the complete list of authorizations and specializations that have been transitioned:
Unified Contact Center Express Authorization Unified Contact Center Express Specialization
Unified Contact Center Enterprise Host Authorization Advanced Unified Contact Center Enterprise
Specialization
Unified Contact Center Enterprise Satellite Authorization Unified Contact Center Enterprise Specialization
*Not to be confused with the existing Internet of Things (IoT) Advantage Specialization
Right now, this is mainly a name change. You’ll go to the architecture specializations page instead of the authorizations
page for requirements and related information. And, you probably want to download a new certificate. Otherwise, things
should still be business as usual with your standard renewal and compliance maintenance.
Keep in mind that we reformatted the terms & conditions for the above authorizations so they align to the standard
specialization requirements format. The content has not changed—just the format. It’s possible that you may see an “out
of compliance” flag in PMA. If so, you simply need to click to accept the terms in the PMA application by your next
renewal date. There’s no negative impact if you wait until your anniversary date, other than the flag appearing in PMA.
