Conditionals

Zero Conditional

If + present simple + present simple

Použitie: používa sa, keď sa výsledok vždy dostaví. Je to pravda.


Ak voda dosiahne 100 stupňov, vždy vrie.

If people eat too much, they get fat.


If you touch a fire, you get burned.
People die if they don´t eat.
You get water if you mix hydrogen and oxygen.
Snakes bite if they are scared.
If babier are hungry, they cry

First Conditional
If + present simple... will + infinitive

Použitie: Veci, ktoré sa môžu stať v budúcnosti.

If it rains, I won´t go to the park.


If i study today, I will go to the party tonight.
If i have enought money, I will buy some new shoes
She will be late if the train is delayed.
She will miss the bus if she doesn´t leave soon.
If i see her, I will tell her.
Second Conditional
if + past simple.. would + infinitive

past simple – 2 stĺpec / ed


Použitie: rozprávanie o veciach v budúcnosti, ktoré pravdepodobne nebudú
pravdivé. Možno si napríklad predstavujem dáky sen.

If I won the lottery, I would buy a big house. (I probably won´t win the lottery)
If I met the Queen of England, I would say hello.
She would travel all over the world if she were rich.
She would pass the exam if she ever studied.

Na rozprávanie o niečom v prítomnosti, čo je nemožné, pretože to nie je pravda.

If I had his number, I would call him. (I don´t have his number now, so it´s
impossible for me to call him.)

If I were you, I wouldn´t go out with that man.

Unless
Znamená – if not
Unless + present simple ... can / should / would / could..
V hlavnej vete používame prítomný jednoduchý a will, should, would, can,
could, may or could

Unless I phone you, you can assume the train´s on time.

Prohibition (zákaz)
Obligation (povinnosť)

Can´t zvyčajne vyvoláva predstavu niečoho, čo je v rozpore s pravidlami.


Must not zvyčajne znamená, že je to rečník, kto určuje pravidlo.

Have to – zákon
Must – hovorca

mis – the opposite of something, not
dis – wrong or bad
