Instruction:
Find appropriate references (books, magazines, websites, fb pages, blogs/vlogs, podcast, and other
online sources).
List 40 Japanese phrases or sentences that are used in common conversation and its operational English
translation, i.e. when doing self-introduction, giving greetings, showing emotions, etc.

1. Yoku dekimashita – Great job


2. Omedetou gozaimasu – Congratulations
3. Arigatou – Thank you
4. Gomen nasai – I’m Sorry
5. Sumimasen – Excuse me
6. O-namae wa nan desu ka? – What is your name?
7. Oaidekite ureshī desu – I am very glad to meet you.
8. Nante iimashita ka? – What did you say?
9. Wakarimasen – I don't understand
10. Nante iimashita ka – What did you say?
11. Yoku wakarimasu – I understand you perfectly.
12. Eigo o hanasemasu ka – Do you speak English?
13. Wakarimashita – I understand you
14. Dai jobu desu – That's all right
15. Konnichiwa – Hello
16. Konbanwa – Good evening
17. Moshi moshi – Hello (but only if you’re on the phone or something like Skype)
