Word problem:

Patricia needs to form 32 equal regions on a piece of

Reference: paper. How many times does she have to fold the
paper in half?

Materials:
X number of folds

32 number of regions
Laptop, Power Point
Presentation 2 1-fold = 2 regions

Solution:

2 x =32

2 x =25

x=5

B. Analysis

Based on the activity provided. The following questions

will be asked to the learners.

1. What have you observed in the given expression to

solve the word problem easily?

2. In solving this expression, what have you notice to the

base?

3. How to expressions involving exponential Equations?

C. Abstraction
The teacher will now present and discuss the topic:

Exponential Equation

An exponential equation is an equation with exponents where

the exponent (or) a part of the exponent is a variable. For
example, 3x = 81, 5x - 3 = 625, and 62y - 7 = 121

Types of Exponential Equations

There are three types of exponential equations. They are as

follows:

 Equations with the same bases on both sides.

(Example: 4x = 42)
 Equations with different bases can be made the
same. (Example: 4x = 16 which can be written as
4x = 42)

Property Of Exponential Equation:

If b m=b n , then m = n for b > 0 and b ≠ 1.
