different club organizations which are all wonderful and useful.
1. How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning of the
students going to school? What are your conclusions?
Capintalan National High school is green and natural. You can’t see
any things that may harm the community. The school is peaceful, calm and
relaxing. The classroom might be to old-fashioned but there will be no
destruction when it comes to learning. For me, it is a positive side that the
school is located in the mountains. There is no place to do entertainment
related activities such as shopping, bar, place to drink and play games,
which avoid student’s temptation to cut classes. Most of all, the student’s

may fully appreciate the beauty of nature, that it is more peaceful to study
in a simple place which there’s no cause of interruption to finish their
study.
2. How does this relate to your knowledge of the child and adolescent development?
How does this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?
Child and adolescent learners are easily distracted to petty things
they encounter in their learning environment, just a simple transportation
noise, busy neighborhood, and infrastructures raucous may ruin their
concentration to study and learn. That is why, having a school located in a
beautiful and natural place is an advantage for those who want to focus on
their studies. In facilitating learner-centered teaching, we always want the
best for our students. We give our utmost time and heart to follow and
meets their needs in learning to avoid troubles in the future. As a great
teacher is chill, we should always put a calm and welcoming atmosphere in
order for them to appreciate the real essence of learning. Indeed, the
Capintalan National High school campus is a best example for a school
that wants to avoid distractions and interference to every student’s journey
to success.
1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why?
Yes. As a nature lover, it is an opportunity for me to teach in a
school that offers a peaceful and smooth way to progress. Green,
refreshing and relaxing while teaching indigenous people with the best
attitude in the country, wherein every day I will encounter such simple,
loving and well-mannered students. There is no place I’d rather be to teach
and learn at the same time.

place where learning is easy, simple and comfortable. It is an effort-less
school to manage because of trouble-free environment.
Activity 1.2 OBSERVING BULLETIN BOARD DISPLAYS
As you look around and examine board displays, use the observation guide and forms
provided for you to document your observations.
1. Go around the school and examine the board displays. How many board displays do
you see?
Over all, there are 26 different board displays.
2. Where are the display board found? Are they in places where target viewers can see
them?
There are lots of board displays around the campus, every building,
clubs and each classroom have bulletin boards displayed in each front
door, windows and walls. Indeed, the target viewers can clearly see the
informational board displays.

The displays are all about the different agendas of every subjects

there are tarpaulins for Covid 19-awareness, board for Disaster Risk
Reduction management, Boards, stickers and wallpapers for different
Academic/subject related information and also board displays of
Classroom officers, Faculty and Staff and Parents-teachers association.
There are also bulletin board for classroom rules and procedures,
consequences, honors/achievement, birthday and cleaners.
Generally, board displays are creatively designed, full of colors and
recycled materials, and big enough to see and read. It is also arranged

4. What materials were used in making the displays? Are borders used?
Yes, the materials used are cork boards, blackboards, whiteboards,
tarpaulins, colored papers, printed papers and photo papers, highlighters,
boarders, and different eco-friendly materials for designing.
5. Do you notice some errors? (misspelled words, grammar, and the like)
I noticed some errors such as the correct usage of Capitalization
and punctuation marks. Also, some are not readable due to wrong color
accents.
7. Think about what got your attention. Why did it get your attention?
The display board that got my attention is the Disaster Risk
reduction management corner. It has lots of informational posters like
tropical warning signals, preparedness measures for tropical cyclones and
earthquakes, Covid-19 awareness in tagalog language and anti-bullying
corner.

8. Take a photo of the display board.
2. Did the board display design reflect the likes/interest of its target audience? Why?
Why not?
The board display design reflects the interest of the students,
because teachers made sure that the color, boarders, shapes and artistic
effects suit to the taste of the learners.
3. Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to understand?
Why? Why not?
Yes, the language used are clear and simple because the

students are familiar with. Teachers made sure that there are no
extravagant expressions and deep words used.

Due to the new normal, I suggest to have a display board which is
timely-relevant, creative and informational. So that, not only students will
be aware of the reality and the changes that occurring in the system but
also teachers who are in-charge of facilitation of learning. Hence,
everything will be under control, and students and visitors in the
classroom will become much more responsible in dealing with the new
normal.
*Based on your suggestions, make your board display lay-out. You may present your output
through any of these:
* a hand-made drawing or layout
* an electronic (computer) drawing/illustration or layout
* a collage
1. Name at least five skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with
effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.
a. Resourceful- all the needs of the students must supply. Use recyclable
materials if necessary.
b. Artistic- to catch up with the taste of the audience. Modern/minimalist
c. Competent- the teachers must have sufficient ability to provide the diverse
needs of the learners. It must be multi-cultural and dynamic.
d. Devoted- a devoted teacher in making board display is a successful teacher.
Having the ability to show passion and inspire the learners with
understanding the very lesson of every displays.
e. Expressive/ Brilliant- have the ideas more meaningful, and clear to
understand. No need to express words profoundly. Just focus on the track
using simple words but meaningful.
2. Which of the skills you named in number 1 do you already have? Recall your past
experiences in making board displays. How do you practice these skills?
From the skills I named in number 1, the characteristics I already
have is being resourceful, artistic and devoted. I made sure that I apply the
re-use, reduce, and recycle in making artistic effects on board displays. I
also devoted my time and effort in making board displays which are
informational, inspirational and persuasive, so that I can make an impact in
the learning of the students.
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? What concrete steps will you take on how
you can improve on or acquire these skills.
From what I have suggested on the skills that a teacher must come
up with an effective display board, being competent and expressive are the
things I admit to still need to develop because, I remember using my rich
vocabulary to put words which are not familiar just to make it more
appealing or expressive but I am wrong. So, just use general terminologies
that learners will easily understand so that they can absorb the information
written clearly and effortlessly. Also, always make learner-centered display
board and set aside your own needs and provide the things which the
learners want which necessary for their learning acquisition.

ASSIGNMENT: (separate sheet)
“Reading is next to understanding”, honing the knowledge and skills of every student
inside and outside the school community is the main goal why the school teach students the
importance of being literate enough to read and write. Indeed, it will start to an effective school
environment with a place to read and relax their mind for a better understanding of every lesson
within and beyond books. Capintalan National high School, build a conducive reading center
for students to read at their own pace. It is composed of books, audio books, computers,
television and speakers and is located at the highest spot of the school. So, the place is quiet
enough to let the students contemplate and brainstorm with their classmates, friends and peers.
There will be no barriers and environmental noise. It is also clean and green which they can
breathe and focus their mind. Overall, the macro-skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking
and viewing) and communication skills of students will enhance through reading in group
