Guide for Cabinet Layout

Cabinet Guide
This is to be used as a guide on how all cabinet layouts
should appear and how work should be done.

This does not override legal and or manufacturers


speci ications/guidelines

At all times work is to be carried out in accordance to all laws


regulations and install procedures.

A quali ied and skilled personnel for the job must always be
used.

“The right tool for the right job” always applies

This manual is not exhaustive.

The information inside this document is a guide only and not


a speci ication.

The information below was correct at the time of publish, it


is the responsibility of the individuals doing the work to
ensure that if something changes they abide by the correct
and most up to date spec.

AC Power
• Ensure cable is free of defects and that al insulation is intact and NOT
damaged. Ensure a Insulation Resistance Test is done to con irm this
• No joins are allowed
• No cores are cut
• Heat Shrink is in place and armour has been cut correctly.
• Correct approved labels to be installed
• Correct torques are to be applied

Cabinet Side:
1 Left

• Cable entry point is Port #1 is for the 70mm2 Earth


• Cable entry point is Port #2 is for the Power to the cabinet and for
Electrical Earth
• Cable entry point is Port #3 is for the GPS
• Cable entry point is Port #4 is not allocated at this time
* Note: Sprague to come through into cabinet +/-50mm and is to be
sealed around the entry to the cabinet as well as where the cable goes
through.

Secured at the

- With uninsulated lug heat shrink must be placed

• Correct lug/bootlaces sizes and crimping methods where necessary
• Correct torques applied
• Ensure correct length of all trims, cables must not be too short or too long.
• Good cable management must be adhered to at all times
• No Sharp bends
• No damage to cables
• Correct cables for the purpose

Torque settings:

These settings can change from time too time and should
always be checked periodically, the responsibility lies with
the individuals doing the work to ensure the correct values
are used.

Ensure that none of the cables interfere with others and no


cables are damaged. Also correct crimping methods used.

Also ensure that no cables are wrapped around ibre cables,


ensure good separation practices.

CABLE RUN AND SEPARATION

Ensure cables are taken to


the correct points and that
both ends are labelled
accordingly

MOVE FIBRE TO THE SIDE AND


SECURE USING VELCRO TAPE,
ENSURE THAT MIN BEND RADIUS
IS NOT EXCEEDED.
ENSURE GOOD SEPARATION
PRACTICES ARE FOLLOWED.
