Semi-detailed Lesson Plan in Arts 4

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
1. identifies what is texture and its kinds,
2. tell the differences between the kinds of texture, and
3. describe the characteristics of the kinds of texture.

II. Subject Matter

Materials: Bond papers, pencil, eraser, laptop, construction paper and other
material

B. Presentation

a. Activity

The teacher will show them different materials and let them identify and
describe each of the following:

1. sand

2. wood

3. image of a house

4. image of a bird

5. leaves
b. Analysis
The teacher will ask the students the differences of the materials. The will
ask what they feel when they touch the following materials.

c. Abstract
The teacher will present the topic to pupils.

 Texture is the surface quality or “feel” of an object, its smoothness,


roughness, softness or the appearance of the substance or
materials in arts.
 There are two kinds of texture in visual art, the visual and the
actual/tactile texture.
 Visual texture refers to an implied sense of texture that the artist
creates through the use of various artistic elements such as line ,
shading, and color
  Actual/Tactile texture refers to the physical rendering or the real
surface qualities we can notice by touching an object.

d. Application

The teacher will give them a quiz.Put check (✓) if the following materials’
texture is TACTITLE and (x) if the texture is VISUAL.

1. Badminton rocket you hold

2. Peel of the Banana that you eat

3. The Flower in the Book

4. Table’s mantle that the kid wiping

5. Mona Lisa in the Museum

6. Shoe lace of your shoes

7. The skin of the tree in your school

8. Falcon in the painting

9. The eggshells in the collage

10. The houses in the picture


IV. Evaluation

The teacher will group them in 5. They will be given 10 minutes to find 5 tactile
and 5 visual texture materials inside their classroom. They identify the materials, tell and
describe the characteristic and differences of the materials they found.

V. Assignment

Bring indigenous materials for collage.
