On 30th April 2010, Olympia College Penang organized a trip

to the Lost World of Tambun which is a water and theme
park located in Sunway City, Ipoh. The trip was organized by
the Student Council of Olympia College. The fees for the trip
was very affordable to students where they were charged at
the price of RM 65.00 for mouth watering chicken briyani, a
smooth and safe journey by bus, and exciting activities that
helps the students to overcome their tension after exam.
Actually the motive of this trip besides to have fun is to help
students to feel relaxed after finishing their exams. It really
helped a lot of students to overcome their tension with this wonderful trip. Around 25 students
participated and joined the trip to support this event.

The journey to the Lost World of Tambun began at 7.00 a.m whereby all the students were asked
to be gathered at Olympia College. Then the bus made its move after all the students from the Penang
Island gathered. Then the second stop was at Shell Petrol Station in Juru Auto City to collect students
from mainland. Then the bus made a non stop journey safely to reach the destination at the time where
the Lost World of Tambun will be open. The bus reached the Water Theme Park at 11.00 a.m.

Lost World of Tambun is an interesting and exciting place to have fun

by enjoying extreme water rides and also to spend time with animals
that cannot be seen easily by anyone whom lives at the heart of a city.
The operating hour of the Water and Theme Park is from 11.00 a.m to
6.00 p.m. The service there at the Lost World of Tambun was
excellence where was invited by the staff whom is in charge for that
day. They even showed us all the relevant details and important places
in the Lost World of Tambun such as the emergency room, the locker
to keep our things safely and also the map to move around the park. We kept our things in the locker
and we made our first move to the Zoo where we were able to enjoy and experience the activities of
wild animals such as tiger and horse. At the Tiger Valley we enjoyed the rare activities of tigers such as
playing and fighting. Many students took some pictures of tigers.

Then we head straight to the Petting Zoo where the students enjoyed
by interacting with animals such as snakes, raccoon and even rabbits.
Some of the major and main attractions in Tambun Petting Zoo are
Ruby the Racoon, Rabbit Wonderland, Bird Paradise, Serpenterium,
Tortoise Kingdom and even Rainforest Trail. The students really
enjoyed themselves in trying to catch a fish where they were offered
a small fishing net which can be used to catch some fish in a very
small pond. Besides that, some of the students freaked out when they
entered Serpentarium. It is a place where the wild reptiles were
placed in a see thru window that can give a very pleasant and even shocking experience to some. Some
of the reptiles that were displayed in the Serpentarium were Giant Reticulated Python, Mangrove
Snakes and even Giant Monitor Lizards.
At the bird paradise, student enjoyed the natural growing trees and
unique man made bird houses which nearly supporting almost 500
birds. According to the Forest Ranger, there are around 18different
species of birds such as Love Bird, Peacock, Zebra Dove and even
Mandarin Ducks. It was really exciting when it comes to feeding the
birds. The Forest Ranger offered a chance for some students to feed
the birds whereby the birds will come to the hands of the students to
get the food.

The Lost World Petting Zoo is a stunning place whereby the emphasis have been made to create and
interaction and bond between the animals and also the visitors. Some of us experienced the feeding of
birds and even was carried away with the amazing beauty of snakes and reptiles. The Lost World Petting
Zoo also helped the student to learn more about the wild animals and this can ensure in protecting the
endangered wild animals. Our next destination was to the wet park which is the Water Theme Park one
of the major attraction of Lost World of Tambun.

Some of the major attractions in the water theme park are the
Adventure River. It is really fun to be there because it is Asia͛s
longest man made river. Besides that, there were tube raiders
where we can slide from the top in comfortable tubes made
especially for water slides. There was Cliff Racer to where it is
specially made for thrill seekers to enjoy a straight down slide at a
top speed. There was some water park specially made for kids
which is called as Kids Explorabay. Last but not least there was
Jungle Wave Bay where we enjoyed a lot of water games among
the students and also the lectures.

We also went to the Tambun Hot Springs and experienced the

warm earth temperature which made us to relax before we leave
the place. We took our shower and changed our clothes to spend
our precious moment in Amusement Park. There some of the
students played some mini games and even won some teddy bear.

We left the place around 5.30 p.m. and took some pictures before
we enter into the bus. The trip was so exciting and Student Council
must feel proud for achieving the goals of the year to visit Lost
World of Tambun. As the Vice President of Student Council, I hope to organize more activities and make
it achievable with the cooperation from my fellow friends.
