Team Building Lesson:

On September 9, 2021 English Works! (EW) students participated in Team Building activities
including brainstorming the characteristics of a good team player, discussion on individual
strengths and weaknesses by completing individual and team skills inventory, differentiating
between good and bad teamwork demonstrated in the video, and finally devising a survival plan
for “Lost at Sea” scenario by promoting communication, critical thinking, collaborative problem
solving and cooperation skills.
The Team Building activities helped in strengthening the students’ relationships, stimulating a
healthy learning environment along with creating an atmosphere of team spirit.
Comments:
Today's session was full of multiple tasks which was great.  We learned a lot of things today;
especially about survival at the sea. Team building activity was the best; we learnt how a team
can speak volumes together. The videos taught us that team work always pays off; a strong team
can defeat any enemy with teammates support, even if we are smaller in size but in a team form
we can achieve any goal. A team can make impossible things possible. - Maryam Bibi

Keeping in mind the theme of Module 1, the students of English Works! program engaged in team-
building activities on September 10, 2021. The students analyzed and interpreted team-building quotes,
watched videos and discussed good and bad teamwork, differentiated between a group and a team and
finally introduced their teammates orally. They applied their creativity and technological skills to create
team name, tagline, cheer and logo. The lesson fostered collaboration, communication, creativity and
teamwork amongst students.

Comments:

“I really enjoyed creating a name, a tagline, cheer and logo for our team. It was good to see how each
team presented themselves”- Alvina Noor
