TASK 8 Speaking Practice (Units 7-12.2)

Description/
Notes to the 1. You will have a speaking task on ZOOM on 19.01.2022 / 10:15-12:00.
Students 2. Your teacher will chat with students in turn. You can watch and listen to your classmates
when the teacher is speaking with them.
3. During the task, your teacher may mute other students and unmute the student s/he wants
to interview.
4. Your camera and microphone must be ON when it is your turn. If your camera or
microphone is off, you will get 1 out of 20.
5. When it is your turn, answer the questions your teacher will ask. Remember s/he wants to
speak with you like you do in the classes. This will take about 2 minutes in total.
6. Your teacher will grade each student according to the criteria below.

Outcomes - can describe skills and abilities using simple language (34)
- can ask and answer questions about what they do at work and in their free time (35)
- can give an extended description of everyday topics (e.g. people, places, experiences) (38)
- can make and respond to suggestions (41)
- can participate in short conversations in routine contexts on topics of interest (41)
- can communicate in routine tasks requiring simple, direct exchanges of information (46)

EXCEPTIONS:
A student will get 1 out of 20 if
1) his/her camera or microphone is off during the task.
2) s/he doesn’t respond to the questions at all or talks about totally irrelevant topics.
3) s/he produces too little language for assessment.
