PRONUNCIATION PRACTICE
My name is John

Hi! Nice to meet you! My name is John Smith. I am 19 and a student in


college. I go to college in New York. My favorite courses are Geometry,
French, and History. English is my hardest course. My professors are very
friendly and smart. It’s my second year in college now. I love it!

I live in a big house on Ivy Street. It’s near the college campus. I share the
house with three other students. Their names are Bill, Tony, and Paul. We
help each other with homework. On the weekend, we play football together.

I have a younger brother. He just started high school. He is 14 and lives with
my parents. They live on Mulberry Street in Boston. Sometimes they visit me
in New York. I am happy when they visit. My Mom always brings me sweets
and candy when they come. I really miss them, too!

RECOMMENDATIONS
Listen to music in English (Escucha música en inglés)
• try to sing in English (intenta cantar en inglés)
• Reed what you sing while you sing (leé lo que cantas mientras
cantas)

Watch videos, movies and series in English (ve videos, películas, y series
en inglés):
1) Watch a video, movie, or chapter in Spanish one or two times
(mira un video, película, o episodio una o dos veces en español)
2) Then, watch it again but with the audio in English and
subtitles in English (entonces, miralo de nuevo pero con el audio
en inglés y los subtítulos en inglés)
3) Repeat the step two as many times you can, or at least two or
three times (repite el paso anterior tantas veces como puedas, o
por lo menos dos o tres veces)
4) Repeat steps one, two and three with any video, movie or
series you want (repite los pasos, uno, dos y tres con cualquier
video, película o série)

Try to read a book in english (intenta leer un libro en inglés)


• Write any word that you don´t understand and add it to your
vocabulary (escribe cualquier palabra que no entiendas y
agragala a tu vocabulario)
