 reading, listening to music

Why it is special:

 fast search
 convenient

I’m going to talk about a possession I have which I find extremely useful and that’s
my iPhone 10. To begin with, it has a widescreen multi-touch display that is very clear.
What I like about this model is how beautifully designed it is.

I’ve always been a fan of Apple’s smartphones and I really wanted to have this one. I
was lucky enough to receive it as a present from my mother because she wanted
to reward me for my efforts after I graduated from high school, and was offered a
place at a reputable university. I was in luck because at that time there
was a very good discount at the shopping mall I often go to. That was the perfect
opportunity for me to have it and my mother actually bought it for me.

I’ve been using my phone ever since. I use it from the moment I wake up and I take it
anywhere with me. I find it extremely convenient for reading some novels and listening
to music because of its multi-touch screen. I can easily switch from one app to
another and this makes the phone perfect for multitasking.

And why it is so special? Well, I love using my phone to search online and this
specific model is extremely fast and I can easily access online content within
seconds.

PART 3

1. What kind of possessions do people value in your country?

(ANSWER)

That’s an interesting question. I suppose people tend to see modern devices as valuable.

(REASON)

I guess this is due to the influence of modern media.  These days, advertisements for the newest
device can be seen everywhere which causes people to feel like they need them.

(EXAMPLE)

This is exemplified by iPhones. Even though they cost an arm and a leg, there's always queues to
buy them when a new model comes out. They fly off the shelves!

 2. Has it always been the same or did people value different things in the past?

(ANSWER)

I've never thought about that before but if I had to guess, I'd say it hasn't changed much.
(REASON)

I say this because it seems to me that people have always wanted the latest thing.

(EXAMPLE)

I mean, obviously people didn't value iphones twenty or 30 years ago as they weren't available
but , for example, I remember my dad buying a tv when I was just a child. He was very excited
about it. Similar to iphones now; back then, I'm sure TV's were the latest technological items.

 3. Why do you think people need to show their status in society?

(ANSWER)

Honestly, in my experience, it’s usually due to insecurity.

(REASON - MORE INFORMATION)

What I mean is, people lack confidence and as a result, need fancy products to make themselves
feel and appear successful.

(EXAMPLE)

For instance, even though Warren Buffet is one of the richest men in the world, he drives a
normal car. In contrast, many people who aren't very wealthy buy expensive cars in order to
appear rich.
